Romance-seekers and nature lovers will relish a stay at Mahogany Hall, which is noted for its intimate size and quiet, away-from-it-all vibe. Rooms and suites are individually decorated with artworks celebrating local wildlife, while many rooms offer lush mountain views. There are luxurious touches, like Jacuzzi tubs and in-room massages on offer, while meals at Rico’s restaurant feature local, organic produce.
In the Area
Mahogany Hall is situated on the lovely Mopan River, near the hamlet of Bullet Tree Falls. It’s well located for a day trip to the ancient Mayan site of Tikal, Caracol, Xunantunich, or to Cahal Pech, another significant Mayan site as well as the famous Actun Tunichil Muknal. The hotel can suggest hiking routes or arrange regional flights within Belize. But the main allure of Mahogany Hall is its quiet tempo, and many guests prefer to while away the day by the pool, in a hammock or Adirondack chair by the river, or playing a low key game of beach volleyball on the lawn.
How to Get There
Mahogany Hall was INCREDIBLE! The location is off the beaten path hugged against the Mopan River. Once you arrive, you are greeted with friendly faces and a beautiful Mahogany foyer that opens up to a gorgeous waterfall pool, a lush garden, and the river. The amenities, service, and condition of the hotel is impeccable. The Monkey Suite is a must! You’ll have a private balcony that opens up to a view of the river (the best view of the whole hotel). The jacuzzi tub was also a really nice touch after a long day of hiking, swimming, and adventuring. Marsha, the hotel manager, was really knowledgeable and helpful in setting up last minute tours. I can’t wait to return to Mahogany Hall!
The place looks like paradise as you wake up listening to different birds and to the sound of water running down the river. Only 8 rooms, the perfect place to rest and connect with nature. Everybody working at Mahogany Hall is extremely polite and welcoming. Marsha Wite helped us with the reservation and it was great to put a face to a name in an email. You have to have a car if you stay here as you are not in a walking distance to San Ignacio. The rooms were very clean and AC worked well. We did not have breakfast nor dinner at the hotel though we did drink the complementary coffee which was delicious.
Our four day stay was fantastic! Personal and sweet. A great place to relax after the countless adventures in this kind and beautiful country. The river offers a cool fun experience. Ask for a tube to run the river! The food is devine! Full of flavor and just outstanding presentation. Many thanks to the staff for making our anniversary extra special. Stay nowhere else.
