We visited for a special birthday. On arrival, reception offered a choice of rooms. They were very patient when we asked to see another and dithered over which to choose. We settled on a lovely room in the atmospheric old section which looked out over the park/parking area with far reaching views over the countryside and a little balcony. The bedroom and bathroom were really spacious and comfortable. The wellness area is not big but great pool with massage jets. We were offered champagne for the occasion. A treat is a private hour in the rooftop jacuzzi with views over the rooftops. Highly recommend this hotel.

we decided to go in a little city on the seaside but with comfort. This hotel proposes a nice balance between peace and services.
the rooms are very clean and the spa will allow you to spend a nice time after your visits in Tarragona. The most surprising thing is the quality of the restaurant if you decide to dine there.
all in all we stayed three nights and were very satisfied

Beautiful Boutique Hotel

This is a lovely building a small boutique hotel built into the walls of an old castle the setting is idyllic and you can see why this is one of Logis hotel chain "Excellent" hotels. There are just 39 rooms, some in the older part of the building and the rest in the newer part just across the way. The newer part also contains the restaurant and the spa.

The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. There was a small terrace but no view from the terrace and nowhere to sit. It was difficult to have the windows open at night as there was some sort of vent outside making it noisy and the a/c didn't work. The room was a little bit cold and someone had thought to put a free standing heater in the room, so I guess the a/c/heating unit hadn't been working before we got there.

The Spa was small but very nice we were the only people in it I would think it could get crowded at busier times. We were there in February so the rooftop/pool Jacuzzi was not available.

The staff were excellent and very friendly we did not eat in the restaurant so can't comment but it looked very nice.

My one criticism would be that there were not enough staff at breakfast service. There was some self service items like juice, yoghurt and cereal, which I can't eat. The other food (bread products, fresh fruit, charcuterie and cheese) is brought to the table by the server who was also preparing cooked choices, mostly eggs. She was doing her best but because she was busy cooking we waited over 30 minutes for something that I could eat, by which time I was becoming hypoglycemic! I would suggest that in low season if there can't be more staff available, then put the other food out for self service.

Other than that this is a great hotel in a great place.

Lovely hotel, beautiful area.

Spent four nights here for a family wedding at a nearby Catalonian village. Stayed one night in Room 4 (very small room and bathroom, but lovely veranda and view) and three nights in Room 20, which is on the roof level. Room 20 is a beautiful large room with a huge bathroom and private veranda with a hot (warm...) tub and 360 views of the village to the beach. We had dinner in the hotel one evening, which was delicious. We found the hotel staff to be very helpful and pleasant - they called Hertz for us when we left sunglasses in the car, provided us with local sightseeing information, etc. We thought the hotel breakfast was delicious, but never ordered a hot breakfast so did not experience the wait time that was mentioned in other reviews. As far as local sights go, Altafulla is a lovely village in itself, and it is a nice jumping off point to Tarragona (don’t miss the aqueduct!) and Reus. The Gaudi Interactive Museum in Reus, which is Gaudi’s birth city, is well-worth the short drive.

Still waiting for the breakfast

Bedroom is ok, nothing special except for the very small windows. But doesn t match the historic Style of the buildings, looks more like an ibis.
Breakfast can be ok if you have 1:30 to take it. Being here for professional reasons it was quite annoying, open at 7:30 but start really at 8, no self service, 20 min to get food ( and we were alone) even more to get a coffee, surrounded by a bunch of wasps that happily every morning eat the half of the food (quite impressive by the way).
Conclusion: i really don t recommand it, especially if you want stress less morning... oh I finally get my coffee :)
