How to Get There
We stayed for one night before boarding our cruise the following day. Checking out was chaotic due to large groups and few staff.
I stood back a few paces with our cases while my husband settled up. When I looked down my rucksack had vanished - containing my passport and money amongst other items. The hotel staff just said 'it happens all the time'. Now that we've missed our cruise I feel pretty angry that the hotel has no security for a known serious issue.
Please be very careful staying here!
This review is specifically the rooftop bar.
We went here with another couple for a pre-dinner drink after it was recommended to me by a friend.
Great view and nice staff but obviously very expensive due to the location and exclusivity (can't complain but worth noting). The seats are also slightly uncomfortable but overall pleasant experience.
We came back again we liked it so much! The sangria is amazing, the tapas was well cooked and ample in size. We also had the risotto which was really nice. Great service would definitely recommend. The price is a little higher than other places around, but it is worth it.
We stayed in a family suite which was spacious and had beautiful views of the cathedral. The hotel itself is in a great location for exploring Barcelona. The best gelato and churros are nearby -as well as a great little bakery. And it is within walking distance to many sites.
The beds were comfortable with nice linens. We found the staff to be helpful, courteous, and friendly.
We arrived early, tired after our flight from the states, and left our luggage at the hotel while we went exploring. We returned to check in at 2 pm only to find out that our room wasn’t ready. We waited about 40 more minutes for our room without any explanation or apology. The other issue we had at the hotel (though no fault of management) was that we could hear the guests above our room. They were loud and noisy until about 4 am on several nights.
The rooftop bar has amazing views. It is difficult to get a table, and one can’t enjoy a glass of cava without being at a table.
Otherwise, we really enjoyed this hotel and would recommend it.
I booked through a hotels.com as I do for all my hotel bookings and double checked to make sure I was booking a room with a view for my last night in Barcelona.
When I arrived I was told they were sold out and I could not have a room with a view.
Hotels.com was willing to move me to a new hotel but needed approval from the hotel. The manager refused. I find it ridiculous that a hotel at max capacity wouldn’t let me leave. I could either make another reservation and pay for both or stay.
The bed is rock hard. The hotel smells of smoke. Everything is old and outdated. I would recommend anyone looking at this hotel stay someplace else. Ayran, ohla eixample are both in the same price range and are far better, and provide good customer service.
I’ve never complained like this before, but it truly feels like they just wanted to make me stay despite not having what I requested, but after being here even if I had a room with a view, I probably wouldn’t want to stay here because of the bed and the smell.
