How to Get There
We’ve just left this hotel after a very nice two night break. It’s a fantastic base to explore the city from; clean and modern inside an interesting old building with a HUGE door!
The breakfast offers a modest selection of fresh food, all delicious. Good coffee also.
The shower is great and the free products are very nice.
We were facing the street and had a little balcony; there was a little traffic noise in the early evening but this didn’t bother us, it didn’t disturb our sleep. All the famous sites were within 30 minutes walk at most! The gothic quarter, cathedral and las Rambla were only 10 minutes away.
This hotel has a great location and looks beautiful. If you book here please ask for a room on the backside. We had a room that was on the front(street)side.
We bought earplugs at the pharmacia after the first night. Second and third night we slept great!
Good quality rooms, very clean and modern. Convenient 5 minute walk to main square and 10 minutes to La Rambla. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Staff friendly and helpful.
Could do with simple tea and coffee facilities in rooms and breakfast a bit over priced.
Rooms have street view or over a central courtyard surrounded by apartments.
We arrived on 2nd April and stayed for 4 nights . The hotel is gorgeous, clean and rooms are spacious - beds are really comfortable and La Rambla is only a short walk away. We didn’t get public transport once except for Aerobus to airport which is again a short walk and only 5.90 Euros ! Only thing I would say is that in the rooms there are no kettles for making your own tea and coffee, not sure though it may be something that you can ask for upon arrival but didn’t bother us anyway !! Not sure what the negative comments are about in previous reviews as we couldn’t fault this place . Gorgeous all around great experience I would stay again if returning :) thank you !
Just when you think it can’t get worse, there’s no hot water after about 7:30am. This is the selected hotel for a yearly business trip and I never look forward to staying here. It seems to get worse each year. The rooms facing the street are so noisy. Even a deep sleeper would have trouble sleeping through the night with the constant onslaught of street noise. The garbage trucks that roll through at 2am are impossible to sleep through. The rooms are full of hairs found everywhere. The curtains have duct tape holding them together. The worst part though is the smell of the bed. There’s a stench of body odor that is so strong coming from the bed that I make extra efforts to spend minimal time in my room. The smell keeps me awake. It’s not the sheets or the pillows, it’s the bed. The safe in the room doesn’t work and when I requested a new one, the request was ignored. They only have one or two ironing boards. When an entire company is staying here, it could take days before it’s your turn to use it... so don’t plan on non wrinkled clothes unless you make other arrangements. The staff are particularly unhelpful. It’s pretty terrible but just when I thought it couldn’t get worse ... cold showers. When the majority of rooms have an early meeting , there’s no hot water past 7-:30 am. The hair dryer has minimal power so calculate an extra ten minutes to wait for that thing to do its job. It’s unseasonably warm right now and there’s no ventilation or air. We’re all sweating each night. There are too many hotels in Barcelona to put up with this stuff . Stay elsewhere.
