The best of the best

This was our first trip to Barcelona, I stayed @ this hotel with my 7 year old son for 2 nights (19.01.19 - 21.01.19) in room 411... I can honestly say I'm glad I choose this hotel, it was money well spent.

Check in:
Josu (I'll tell you about him later) checked us in. Check In was quick, simply & easy. I was offered a glass of Cava, my son was offered some water which, which was welcomed & appericated. I would suggest that the hotel invest in having plastic cups available for children.

Rooms:
We loveeeeeeeed the room, the decor & layout was fab. Rooms are clean, rooms not that big, but that was fine. I paid an additional 10 euros per night to upgrade to a port view room (It was worth it).

The room has a separate shower & toilet. The shower was amazing I did not want to get out. You receive complimentary dressing gowns & slippers & toiletries, which is a nice touch.

There is a mini fridge in the room with, a coffee machine, a safe etc

Rooms are cleaned daily.

Lighting: I've seen reviews talking about poor lighting, honestly the lighting is fine, I personally think anyone who has complained about lighting is just fussy. There is adequate lighting and adequate plug sockets.

Breakfast: We did not have breakfast at the hotel, the price was 23 euros per person. If I had any complaints it would be the price of breakfast.

I do not understand how they can justify charging a child the same price as an adult for breakfast. There was a cafa (la carla) less than 3 mins walk that has breakfast for 8 euros, which was very nice.

Reservations: Francisco was fantastic, always responded to emails promptly & provided me with all the info I needed. I requested that my room be decorated with ballons for my son & also for the upgrade to port view, he reserved the room and sorted out my request.

My son was a very happy boy, the bed was full of different coloured ballons, a well as a soft sunflower toy, colouring activity book & sweets.

Room service: Room service is available- choice is minimal.

Staff: In the mornings it was mainly Sara & Belen at reception, they always greated you with a smile & always polite, very knowledgeable about the area.

For us Josu was are faviourte staff member simple because from we arrived up until we left, he always had a smile on his face, very friendly & polite, answered all our questions. He always interacted with my son & always acknowledged my son.

Nothing was too much, when my son called down a million times to request water to be sent up or to ask a simple question nothing was a bother. I could sing his praises all day, he was fantastic & truly provided great customer service.

Pool & Roof top bar: The water was cold so we did not go swimming. The day we went up to the 5th floor the bar was closed so can not comment.

Gym: it's not really a gym, it has a running machine & a exercise bike.

Things near by: The marina is within walking distance, there are lots of restaurants & shops near by. There is a museum also within walking distance, the cable carts & the beach is like 20 mins walk. Cable carts are a must, it was really good.

Well I come back or recommend: Of course, I'm already planning a return trip.

Just adequate

Our room was simple, neat, and clean. Just a heads up. Noisy hallway kept us up. Housekeeping staff were chatting loud in the hallway not too far from our room before 9am. There was no electric outlet near the bathroom mirror so my wife had to dry her hair next to the bed. AC is completely turned off during winter months so when the room gets warm you have to open the windows. However, the hotel faces a major intersection and is near water so it gets loud and bugs get into the room.

Relax. Be Happy

Fabulous hotel in a great location. Make sure you guarantee a good rate online and book your port view room early for a stunning stay. Enjoy the cava check in experience if you can. You’ll be back at work before you know it. Life’s too short not to. Comfortable beds, fantastic shower, sensible storage options, coffee machine, balcony and large flatscreen TV with Barça TV on channel 61. What more do you want. H10 are experts in comfort. During our 4 night New Year 18/19 stay the room didn’t get serviced on a couple of days but this was no big deal. Excusable considering the time of year. It was easy enough to catch the staff for fresh towels and room supplies. Definitely somewhere I would love to stay again if the rates are in our favour.

Mum's 50th Birthday made!
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We (6 adults) stayed at H10 Port Vell for my Mum's 50th Birthday. We wanted to pick a special hotel for a special occasion and we definitely made the right decision! Nothing was too much trouble for any member of staff we encountered and they made our trip amazing.

Before arriving, I had emailed the hotel asking if we could reserve a table on the morning of my Mum's birthday to make sure we definitely could dine and if we could bring some balloons to decorate. They took all of this trouble away from me, and took care of the balloons and the decorations (a huge 5 and 0 balloon, smaller balloons around the table and table confetti). I was gobsmacked at the amount of effort they made when I walked down that morning. Breakfast, albeit a little pricey, did not disappoint. A wide selection of food, including unlimited Cava. They also brought out a slice of birthday cake with candles too. They made the morning so special.

The hotel itself is near the Gothic Quarter and just a 10 minute walk away from the beach. The rooftop bar has splendid views of the marina and a great bar with a wide selection of drinks and cocktails. We happened to stay the weekend of the Sant Joan festival and got to watch the fireworks from the rooftop bar which was a bonus. All of the bedrooms were really clean (I'm quite fussy when it comes to this) and the beds were super comfortable.

I love visiting Barcelona and will definitely stay here again.

This hotel is top, well situated, calm, nice view. It's great.

This hotel is top for a city trip.

The hotel is right at the old harbor, with a view on the marina and some spectacular yachts.
Barceloneta and the metro is a few 100 meter away. All the nice fish restaurants are waiting for you in the vicinity, some with terraces and bars right on the marina. Also the El Born, a hip district with small streets and boutiques and bars, is nearby. Just cross the Pla del Palau and you are happily strolling your way up to the Santa Maria Del Mar and the old cathedral. So the situation is top, but also the staff was outstandingly friendly and helpful during our stay. The interior is new, modern and nice. The cleaning staff are very motivated and your room is always spic and span. On the roof you have a spectacular view on the harbor, a small swimming pool and a bar. It was good to be there, so I give it the maximum score, which I seldom do.
