You’ll feel right at home in this airy boutique hotel in Cartagena’s historic center. The six sunny bedrooms strike the perfect balance of stylish and cozy — whitewashed walls, fluffy eggshell comforters and subdued furnishings — while the dining room’s bold black-and-white checkered floor is decidedly modern. Take breakfast on your private balcony (in the suite), retire to the intimate courtyard pool or settle in with a glass of champagne in the rooftop hot tub — you’ll enjoy a lofty view of the neighboring houses and the Caribbean Sea in the distance.
In the Area
Casa Don Sancho puts you within walking distance of some of Cartagena’s top attractions. Wander the charming narrow streets of the old walled city while feasting on arepas and exploring hidden courtyards. Take in a dance show or play at Teatro Heredia, a theater inaugurated in 1911 to commemorate 100 years of independence. Or take a day trip to the Islas del Rosario; the 30-island archipelago, about 40 minutes off the coast, boasts miles of white sand beaches and crystal clear water for snorkeling.
How to Get There
Stayed here for three nights, wish it was longer as it was the most amazing and beautiful hotel stay. The staff was so sweet and welcoming, the food I am still dreaming about and the space was beautifully designed and perfectly located in the city. I cannot wait to go back to Casa don Sancho!
Highly recommend Casa Don Sancho!
This hotel Gorgeous converted hotel from a historic estate home. It has only 6 rooms, but they are spacious and well appointed. The finish level and overall interior of the hotel is of high quality. The staff is super friendly from the airport greeting to departure. Frank and the entire staff took excellent care of my family. We enjoyed breakfast every morning and met new people in the process.
There a is small quaint pool and the roof top has great views.
The hotel booked a private boat for us to visit Rosario Islands. They packed us a great lunch (the ceviche was the best ever)
The only slight suggestion is that it would have been nice if the hotel provided slippers in the room.
We felt very safe in this historic town.
Stayed a week for nephew's wedding. Picked up at airport by arrangement.. good thing we did.. we walked out without luggage!... Frank from hotel stepped right in and worked some magic to recover it.
Staff always friendly and available. Some better with English than others... but always someone can help.
Small hotel out of the noisy center, but walk everywhere. Hidden hem, no sign, buzz to let in. Attention to detail. Custom breakfasts in Dining room or on porch. Nice pool in courtyard...great for cooling off. Beautiful rooms. Jetted tub and great couches on roof with Stunning views... water oneway, city the other.
They'll arrange anything for you... Edwin found a terrific boat to Isla Rosario beaches same day...and walked us to dock (note to self: bring your own food and drink along). Daniella and chef arranged private family dinner for 9, (two of us, plus others staying elsewhere) in Dinning room. Thanks to Joelle for great service that night.
Overall terrific. If you like the small guest house style hotel, great service, casual yet elegant setting... can't beat this. Thanks to all the other staff for a wonderful stay!!
We arrived after a long bus trip to be welcomed with a drink . Fantastic comfy bed and lovely decor , very relaxed and elegant.
A quiet oasis off the busy streets , the staff are really kind and go out of they’re way to help ..
Wish we could have stayed longer
Upon arriving to Casa Don Sancho, we were warmly greeted and taken upstairs for a complimentary beverage. The staff was very informative of things to do around Cartagena, helping to assist with day trips to the islands, and recommendations for dining. When we found our room, we were very pleased. It was charming, with fresh roses and nice linens. The rooftop jacuzzi is a great viewing spot of the city day and night. The 24 hour staff was terrific throughout the entire stay, they are all extremely accommodating and friendly. Rooms were very cool with good AC. Bathrooms were also stocked with plush towels and robes. Turn down service with complimentary water and chocolate was a nice way to unwind for the day. We would definitely recommended staying here at Casa Don Sancho.
