On January 4th, 2019 we have stopped by the resort on our hike to the tide pools. It is not open to the public. A small portion is hosting recovery/FEMA workers but the rest is boarded up. One of the gate attendants told us that the opening date has been pushed back multiple times and it wouldn't happen anyway until the construction/renovations were completed and there were no signs of them starting in January 2019. The grounds are beautiful and secluded but one would need a car to get anywhere from this most western point of the north shore.
