How to Get There
We have been here for a week and are leaving in a few days. This place is amazing!! Very quiet and private, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. The view from our villa, Bamboo, is beautiful!!! Right off our deck are banana and soursop trees, which are full of fruit. Everyday we watched birds and I think we even saw a few mongoose?? I brought bug spray because the other reviewers mentioned bugs, but we never had any problems. We sat on our deck at night and never got bit.
We also rented a car from the airport. It was a little scary in the beginning, but you get the hang of it, and it also saved us a ton of money.
We also brought our own snorkling gear. We either drove to sites or hired a water taxi to drop us off. Our favorite spot to snorkel was along the base of petit piton, from sugar beach to the public beach that nobody seems to go to. I cant remember the name. It's a short walk or drive from Stonefield. You can see it from the Mango restaurant, which by the way, is also excellent.
We have been to other Caribbean islands, and this is by far, our favorite one. We will be back and will definitely stay at Stonefield again.
We have stayed at Stonefield Villa Resort twice. Both stays were amazing! The villas and the views are the perfect blend of relaxation and comfort with views of the Pitons and the ocean. We enjoy the absence of children, our private pool, beautiful private outdoor showers and the air conditioned bedroom. The staff members are quite accommodating. The hillside walk to the restaurant is pretty steep. But once there, the food is great quality, even though the selection is limited. We felt the meals are pricey (compared to prices in USA), but we have found that to be true most places in the Caribbean. We took advantage of the free taxi shuttles to the beach to snorkel. We have also become frequenters of Martha's Table restaurant for lunch. Overall, we LOVE St. Lucia and Stonefield Villa Resort. When we return to St. Lucia, we will be sure to book our favorite villa once again!
The most romantic place I've ever stayed. We WILL be going back. Seclusion and romance with excursions only a short ride away. Don't miss it!!A honeymooners or anniversary couples paradise. My wife and I agreed, this vacation exceeded all expectations.
We came to Stonefield for our honeymoon and it was the most perfect place. We stayed in Villa Casaurina, with stunning views of the sea and Petit Piton, and had our own decking area, pool, sunbeds and a two person hammock in complete privacy. The bathroom and bedroom were spacious with a fridge and kitchenette for making tea/coffee/snacks. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly and professional staff, and the food was great, particularly the banana pancakes at breakfast. As previous travellers have mentioned, tours through the hotel are very easy to organise and you are given a mobile phone so that you can call for the hotel taxi wherever you are. The hotel is only a 15-20 minute walk (or free shuttle) to Malgretoute beach, a beautiful, semi-secluded black sandy (with some stones) beach, and a 20-25 minute walk into Soufriere, and is only a short taxi journey away from all the main attractions in Soufriere/St.Lucia - so you have everything on your doorstep for a fantastic holiday. It has been very hard to leave this paradise!
Where to start? The driver that picked us Charles was super courteous. When we arrived we were greeted with a cool cloth and a passion fruit drink. Our Villa was gorgeous!! I have included a picture of the view at sunset. From our villa it felt like we were right under Pitite Piton and had a gorgeous of view of both the Pitite Piton and the Caribbean Sea. It was absolutely breathtaking. The staff at the Restaurant The Mango Tree were professional and very friendly. We booked an excursion through the hotel and met our driver Peter. He was so awesome and full of knowledge about the island he really went out of his way to make sure we had a good time and we ended up requesting him for every taxi ride we needed. He was great!! The entertainment at night was amazing. We will definitely go back and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic getaway
