How to Get There
Hotel Alisei is a beautiful and tranquil hotel with Ritz Carlton service!! So many wonderful elements to this lovely place. The breakfast buffet each morning is stellar and offers many choices such as cooked to order omelettes, pancakes, french toast, waffles and lots of local delicacies. You can peer into the window overlooking the chefs preparing the food and see the beautiful and clean kitchen!! From the very first impressions at the reception window we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. Our room was on the 3rd floor (no elevators for those who struggle with stairs) and we had a wonderful view overlooking the entire property and ocean. It was in advance of our 30th wedding anniversary so they prepared the room in such a lovely way with BEAUTIFUL local floral arrangements-think birds of paradise on steroids! The room was a 2BR 2BA flat with kitchen and all of the amenities you would need. We had a few quirks (shower head not working, light bulb out and safe malfunction) that were IMMEDIATELY resolved! The staff were all wonderful, see Anthony at the pool bar, Alexander, Nelson, Desiree inside at the Baraonda restaurant and many more. The special spa on property is beyond any spa experience we have encountered in the states-unbelievable massage and facial! Marie in the spa is delightful as are all of the spa technicians! Highly recommend taking advantage of this beautiful space. Lastly, we had great conversations with Imke, and my daughter and I attended her expert yoga class where we learned many new poses and positions to alleviate the different issues in our bodies. Imke is a special person with a light and energy that is very inspiring! We also enjoyed meeting her lovely cat, Lucky, and little dog, Willie. Lastly, we booked the El Limon excursion through the hotel and it was wonderful. They will be sure you are taken care of in a professional and safe manner. Walk to town to many restaurants if you can pull yourself away from the wonderful Baraonda restaurant onsite.
We are a family of 4 from Canada who visited over March break. We had an absolute incredible experience in all facets! The grounds are so so beautiful and the rooms are extremely spacious with comfortable beds. I literally could not believe the value we received based on price. The spa was so therapeutic and my whole family enjoyed wonderful massages and the Turkish bath. They even did a special pampering morning for my daughter’s birthday. The restaurant is the best in town and has wonderful breakfasts! And my husband and I fell in love with Imca’s (the owner) yoga classes. I’m just having a hard time finding a yoga teacher here who can compare! It is a family run resort and the owner’s are present in a wonderful and beautiful way. They literally make you feel like you are at home and welcome you every time they see you! Our kids said this was their best vacation yet and we can’t wait to return to our Dominican “home” next year! Oh and the beaches are the best you’ll ever see!
I am giving Alisei five stars. Not for luxury but for simple elegance. The staff is professional and attentive at all times. I requested a room close to sea and up high. Enzo made sure we got the perfect room. The room was clean with simple charm. Our bed was incredibly comfortable. Each morning there is a free breakfast with more than enough to choose from.
The hotel location is perfect. Away from the noise of town center but close enough to walk. Little bars and restaurants dot the road along the way so you are always within moments of a great experience.
We loved our stay!
Nice enough hotel.. in room firdge and stove (no oven) Clean, air conditioned. Only thing is there was a really loud party one night that went late and and where the party goers got aggressive. Since they were people living there staff did nothing. ... otherwise ok
4th year at Alisei and its always amazing. Perfect location, nice pool, great rooms with gigantic luxurious decks so you can basically be living outside for a week. Restaurant is also great and big breakfast included. Also great yoga classes and office staff is so helpful with anything you need. Perfect place to really relax for a week. They also set up a driver to/from SDQ which made travel super smooth.
