A complete and utter paradise, where we will no doubt return to as soon as possible.
The owners have accomplished a perfect balance between luxury and personal.
The apartments/rooms are spacious and well cleaned every day.
Very large villa with fully equipped kitchen
Well kept pool
Very friendly staff
Right at the beach with snorkeling friendly coral reef just a couple of meters form the hotel
We have been coming to Hotel Alisei in Las Terrenas for the last 4 years straight and could not recommend a better location for a wonderful winter getaway and family friendly location! Enzo and staff are extremely helpful, the food is amazing and everything is within walking distance in town. More affordable than any US vacation destination! As a family of 5 we are particularly fond of the european style hotel rooms (apartments) that have full kitchens and separate rooms, ideally for both families or multiple couples traveling together. 💯 recommended from a family of frequent world travelers!!
Every single member of the ‘team’ at Hotel Alesei are top notch. Special mention of Ocadia on reception who sorted out various requests during our stay with a smile and so efficient and charming. Breakfasts were fantastic. Lovely chef cooked eggs to order and most obliging...wide choice of delicious fruit, breads, pastries. Always bacon and other hot accompaniments. Apartment excellent. Pool excellent. Grounds kept beautifully. Flowers gorgeous. .... can not fault it but it’s the people who make memories and we came home with many happy ones. Thank you all.
Alisei is a nice hotel close to the beach in Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic. Big nice rooms/flats with everything you need. Clean. Good breakfast. But the best of all is Celia who works as a bartender in the poolbar! Very serviceminded and a real pro! Makes the best drinks and always with a smile on her face!!
We stayed at Hotel Alisey for 14 days and as we explored more of Las Terrenas during these two weeks, we gradually understood what a perfect location we were in.
The Hotel: Compared to the general standard of living in Las Terrenas the hotel is quite “high end”. It is located only a few meters from the beach separated by a moderate trafficked one lane road. The people working at the hotel, as like about everyone else we met who were locals, was friendly and service minded. Yoga was offered every morning at 8:30 (11 in the weekends). The yoga teacher, Imke, was skillful, knowledgeable and taught varied and relaxing Iyengar-classes. A great way to start the day (remember to bring 400 DOP in cash).
The pool area: was inviting with comfortable sunbeds and for the most part quiet. We spent many mornings in the sun there, reading our books and dipping in to the cool water. We also ordered both drinks and food from the pool bar or the restaurant and got it served there. The pool itself was cleaned every morning.
The room: With a fully equipped kitchen (including a powerful blender for our midday smoothies), modern’ish bathroom and a big master bedroom, we felt at home from the start. The room was cleaned every day if we wanted to, but spending most of the time outdoors we hang the “do not disturb” sign in the door about every other day. The hammock on the big terrace was a nice touch!
The area: After about 15 minutes on foot we all of a sudden were surrounded by the noise and traffic of the city. It was a surprisingly big contrast to the peaceful area we lived in. We loved that it was only a short walk (or an even shorter “mototaxi” ride) to all the restaurants, souvenir shops and supermarkets. Waking up in the hotel in the mornings all we could hear was the birds singing.
TIPS: We recommend not booking the whale watching tour through the hotel. This was not a good experience. This is to no fault of the hotel as they don’t have anything to do with the tour itself. They merely booked the tour for us. In general we recommend you stay away from “Eva Tour Samana”.
