How to Get There
The reception and check in was excellent, no stress happy to see us again..
We had a beach front Villa 135 same room as last time, excellent quality with everything you need..
The West Coast the sea water is calm and clear...
and in the first few days warmer then the pools , but after the 3rd day the pools had heated up with the Sun on then so perfect for the interesting swim up bar.
The only negative is the lack of public toilets , which was not a issue for us as we were on the beach, but others had a long track to the only 2 toilets.
Would I go again, you bet
We recently stayed at Crystal Cove and this was our first visit. The complex is low rise and nicely designed with cottage type accommodation spread throughout and beautiful gardens. It has a lovely beach but the area around the pool is small and felt a little cramped. We stayed in their top accommodation, a one bedroom suite with ocean view, which on the whole was satisfactory but a little on the small side for 3 adults. Specifically, the wardrobes are very tired. In our opinion they are not at the level of a 4-star hotel, more like 3 or even 2 (one door was dangerously unhinged... which we reported to Reception staff). They definitely need to refurbish them, given the price for this type of rooms. Aside from this, the rest of the accommodation was fine. Beverages on offer were good and plentiful and food quality on the whole was fair. Breakfasts and lunches were fine but dinner varied from good to ordinary. We stayed for ten nights but went out for dinner four times, just to have a break from the dinner offering and enjoy the island restaurants which are truly top end (Lone Star, Tides, The Cliff and Cin Cin). The hotel has great staff, always pleasant, ready to do their best and very available. The ambassador service on the beach was excellent (especially the lady ambassador whose name I can't recall, but who really looked after guests superbly) though we really appreciated all staff. Nice also to see that the General Manager was present and available if required, which we did not! Overall, we found the complex to be well managed, well kept and very clean. We would definitely return.
Stayed at Crystal Cove for two weeks. Food lovely especially at Reflections restaurant. All staff friendly and helpful. Accommodation clean and comfortable. Availability of water sports very good. Water taxi brilliant idea to visit other hotels in the group. Setting lovely on West Coast with bus stop outside to explore the island.
Lovely 4* hotel but with some misgivings. Only 2 restaurants on site and the beachside one virtually impossible to get a booking unless you made it at breakfast time before 0900. Food was of a good quality in general but if staying for more than 7 days could be a little monotonous. Evening entertainment was similarly monotonous with different acts singing the same songs (Caribbean Reggae) EVERY night. Daytime entertainment none-existent even though it advertised it. Pool aquarobics happened once in 11 days.
My wife and I have just returned from a 2 week stay here and as it was our most costly trip yet, we really expected high standards. St James is a lovely area, apart from the random pavements! The weather was lovely and sunny and we had a view of the sea, which was good, as we hadn't paid for a sea view. The hotel staff in general were very pleasant and helpful. The room was in need of an update, the towel rail fell off and the toilet roll holder was on such an angle, that the roll just manage to stay on! The hotel layout is good with nice gardens and the gym is well equipped, which we used regularly. The food quality let it down, although many other guests thought that it was alright and some had stayed here before. Reflections restaurant was the main one we used, as the food was hotter and better quality. We went to Waves one lunchtime and their food was no better, if its meant to be hot, it should be at least warm!
