How to Get There
My wife and I were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary with a week long vacation. The accomodations, food, location and especially the quality of the service were all outstanding. You don't stay at many resorts where you can remember the various staff members by name because they do such a good job, but you will here! Frankie greeting at the front entrace, Juan at the beachside breakfast service, JC and Robert at the beachside bar, Katerina at the concierge desk, and everyone really is outstanding. The owner was on-site, greeted us at breakfast one day, asked how we were doing. Here are a few details worth mentioning that you won't see in many reviews: the water pressure in the shower was strong, and the walk to the nearby, Alhambra casino, was short, literally about 120 yards thru a well lighted parking lot, from the front door of the Bucuti. The minimum bet at the craps table is $5, and at the blackjack tables is $5 to $25. The crowd is upscale, and the casino is bustling at night but not packed. Well, one night it was pretty crowded from 7 to 11. While the casino is open all day long, the table games open between 6 and 7 pm. The stand-out detail of this resort is the set up on the beach. Their umbrellas are spaced farther apart from each other than any other resort on the island or any other resort anywhere. They have nice tables at each umbrella. All the lounges (beach chair loungers) have cushions. They have a beach towel station or window where you pick-up both regular beach towels and a sort of oversized "fitted beach chair lounger towel" that you cover your chair with before you lay down on it. And the best feature, they have more umbrellas than they have rooms! You don't reserve the umbrellas. If you want the front row, you go down to the beach at 7:00 am, check out your towels and select a spot. Not feeling the need for a front row spot, we would eat breakfast on the outdoor patio around 8:30 to 9:00 and then go pick out an umbrella 2 or 3 rows back. You are still right on the beach. This system works fine. The other best thing - each beach chair has a red flag that you put up if you want to order a beverage or lunch! And the service is fast. Oh, and it is a cashless system. Everything gets charged to your room or credit card. Best tip is the Wednesday and Saturday movie nights on the beach. They have a permanent screen set up with lounge chairs. In summary, everything is exceedingly well done here.
This resort is lucky to have Frank, Karen and Yolanda! The service and attention to detail was superb. We went to celebrate our anniversary and they made it very special and memorable for us. We loved the beach bar and palapas were plentiful without the stress of having to worry you wouldn’t get one. Excellent service!
We’ve been staying at Bucuti and Tara for the past 13 consecutive years. This is a quiet, upscale, couples resort yet it maintains its Arubian charm. The grounds and the beach are to die for. The staff is utterly amazing and many have become like family to us. Every year when we return it is like going home.
Truly amazing service, the friendliness and attention we received from ever staff member was excellent. Great views from the Tara Suites, directly on to the beach but not noisy at all. Super comfortable bed, beach recliners also great, everything impeccable, in good taste.
Delicious water everywhere and lovely take home cups for refills (love the lack of plastic bottles or cups!). Perfect place to relax and enjoy the Aruba warmth and breezes.
Fabulous breakfast too!
From beginning to end, another great week. Our sixth annual visit and we continue to be awed. I won’t belabor the point, but it says something when you not only recognize many of the fine staff, but fellow guests as well.
A standard few can meet.
