How to Get There
Stayed at Bucuti Beach, a standard room with king size bed as we have done for the past four years. Eagle Beach is just beautiful and age restriction at the resort is a plus.
The method for signing up for daily use of beach umbrellas, done electronically from an Ipad provided by the resort or on your phone with their app is definitely a process geared to the younger crowd with nimble fingers. The selection of umbrellas goes rapidly. Very rapidly. We also did not like having our vacation days interrupted by wondering how close it was to the five o’clock magic hour sign up time.
We noticed the cost at the Sand Bar restaurant on the beach for drinks (which got smaller) and food has increased. Many fellow beach goers were not ordering drinks or eating lunch and saving that for happy hour time, 4-6PM. Others were leaving the beach and heading elsewhere. There is a Subway close by that fit the bill for us.
We were considering a fifth year visit , however the price for the same room in 2020 is $53.00 more per night.
This June was our 17th stay at the Bucuti and we will be returning this October for our 18th stay. In our opinion this the best hotel on the island. Every time we visit we always find small or major improvements to the facility, Mr. Biemans takes great pride in his hotel and it shows!! Over the years we have developed many great relationships with
The staff and always look forward to seeing them when we visit their level of service is just fantastic. However, we do not like the new beach umbrella reservation system. Beach position is very important to us since we occupy it from 5:30am til 3pm every day. The honor system worked well and we always followed the hotel rules implicitly. Over the years we have noticed many folks blatantly not following the rules and those rules not being enforced so we understand why the hotel changed the policy. Under the new guidelines we see the same problems great spots under utilized or not at all, people leaving and leaving towels strewn all over to blow in the wind. We find it very stressful to have to compete on a computer to reserve a spot. On our very last day the computer system froze and we had great difficulty trying to reserve. We feel the honor system would have worked better if rules were properly enforced.
We stayed at the Bucuti and Tara resort for our honeymoon and my husband and I both loved it! The staff was SO friendly and helpful, the resort itself was beautiful, breakfast food was good, and the beach and pool were always clean and never crowded. We would definitely go back to this resort!
The Bucuti and Tara Resort is absolutely wonderful! The minute you arrive you truly feel like they care about their guests! The resort itself is tranquil, the staff is attentive, and the cleanliness is outstanding! Orville and Hisol on the beach were soooo awesome and friendly and remembered what we ordered from day to day. Beverly at the towel counter was incredibly friendly as well and really lovely. Margarette and the other lovely woman in the Tara lounge were always very accommodating and sooo nice at breakfast every day! Frank, the doorman, was also extremely friendly and super nice. We also loved how spacious the lounge chairs are on the beach and we utilized the well equipped gym everyday! The two restaurants on site were delicious especially Senses which was truly an amazing fine dining experience. All in all we had a fabulous time at Bucuti and Tara Resort and we highly recommend it!!!
Beautiful hotel/resort. Customer service is definitely 5-star, rooms are mostly 4 star, and the beach is about 3 star. Rooms are clean and comfortable, but not 5 star. Good A/C, air purifier, iPad linked to your room, Aruba Aloe toiletries, and electronic mirror in the bathroom make the room nicer. During our stay, the beach conditions were not the best we’ve seen although we had typical Aruban weather. Sand quality was ok, Aruba is very windy, and the water although a clean, beautiful blue, did not have the clarity as other beaches in other destinations we’ve travelled. Also, the water gets deep very quickly. Be aware of the umbrella reservation system. Not an issue for us, but several people don’t like it. Just be online promptly at 5pm to get what you want. The pool area and restaurants are very nice. Food and drinks are top quality. The adults only and personal treatment from the staff are the biggest perk for this resort. A huge shout out to Stefano, Mayra, Laura, Juan, Frank, Koen, and Oriana for going above and beyond and making us feel special. Most of the staff are quite professional and polished! Again, customer service is the highest quality portion of this resort!
We booked our trip through United Airlines Vacations. We chose “standard room” but were not given a selection for king bed or double bed. After an amazing first impression, to our dismay we were placed in a double room and told nothing else was available. They made a daily effort to find a room with king bed but no availability until our third day, only with an upcharge for a “superior room.” We declined the offer as we had already settled in our room and did not want to pack up and move. Lesson learned, book direct and not through a third party or pay close attention to the difference in room types. The only other issue was the room had electronic switches to signal “Privacy” or “Make up room”. They didn’t work, so we had to use the door hanger. We didn’t report the issue as it didn’t really affect our comfort. About the fourth day in, we had been out most of the day and returned mid afternoon to find our room had not been “made up” although we left the door hanger on make up room. We called the concierge and housekeeping was sent immediately, but we had to leave our room for about 30 minutes for it to be cleaned. It was then reported the electronic switch did not work. On our last day and without notice, they decided to repair the switches. We had been out for almost 4 hours and came back to find them repairing. Instead of being able to clean up and rest, we were again kept out of our room for at least 30 minutes. And the switch still wasn’t fixed.
Though these things were not deal breakers, it could have made our stay totally hassle-free and almost perfect! If you are looking for quiet and relaxation, choose this hotel over one’s in the high rise area. All the amenities are in this resort. You really do not need to go out much! If and when we return to Aruba, we will definitely stay here again!
