South Point Antigua
What We Love
- A relaxing and modern pied-à-terre amid Caribbean beach and marina life, including breakfastThe pool and intimate private shore – not that Antigua has any shortage of beaches
- The close proximity to the marina, with its yacht clubs and day-charter catamarans
- The open, spacious suites with fully equipped kitchens and terraces overlooking the harbor
What To Know
- Free WiFi is unreliable
- Nelson's Dockyard, Pigeon Beach, and plenty of great restaurants are all within 5-minute walking distance
- The hotel has its own tiny private beach, but there are better public beaches nearby
Like the surrounding island of Antigua, South Point is both charmingly Caribbean and thoroughly cosmopolitan. At once laid-back and modern, this tropical boutique hotel offers comfortable and spacious open-plan suites with stunning views of the sun-drenched marina and Caribbean. A swimming pool lined by palms and tropical gardens provides the ideal balance of sun and shade, and you’re invited to sip a poolside espresso by day or, by evening, enjoy a harborside meal at the restaurant that fuses Asian, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine.
Off the hotel property, marina life goes busily on among magnificent mega-yachts and day-charter catamarans. Nearby cafés, gelaterias and bars provide a continuous hum of daily activity, while barbecues and reggae shows pop up as the sun sets. And if you’d like to hit the beach, South Point has a private one, while the island has plenty of others – 365 total, or one for every day of the year.
With a contemporary, urban style, as well as air conditioning and a ceiling fan, the suites at South Point look as effortlessly cool as they feel. Each has a modern living area with a fully equipped kitchen, an outdoor dining area and an interior lounge. Find a walk-in shower and double basin sinks in your en-suite bathroom.
Inspired by the best of Asian, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine, South Point’s restaurant showcases authentic flavors in simple, fresh dishes on a beautiful deck over the bay. The Lounge at South Point, meanwhile, offers a sophisticated, relaxed and easygoing space where you can sample light fare, creative cocktails and a discerning wine list while watching marina life unfold.
The sunniest of the Eastern Caribbean Islands, Antigua is a beautiful, temperate tropical escape with 365 beaches and coral reefs that attract snorkelers and scuba divers from all over the world. In addition to water sports, the island offers activities from gourmet dining to bird-watching. Charter a yacht for a day sail around the island, sojourn to one of many restaurants scattered throughout the island, and catch a spontaneous reggae show at Shirley Heights Lookout.
How to Get There
South Point was amazing! The room, restaurant, location and staff were so warm, kind and helpful. The views and amenities couldn’t have been better. Anything you needed, all you had to do was ask. I will return and would highly recommend. The staff made all the difference.
The friendliness of staff made a difference
Very helpful, accommodating and eager to do any necessary arrangement to exceed customer expectations- Gabe’s the stay a personal touch and made a difference to any other stay
Huge rooms and balconies with views of mega yachts in the adjacent marina.
Very nice open air restaurant not at - but in - the marina. Sunday brunch and live music not to be missed. Cool interior decor all over
Amazing location, fantastic rooms, excellent food, attentive and uber friendly service. Thursday night band was off the charts fantastic. Owner Jeff Hadid has found a spot at the top table with all that South Pointe has to offer. The place oozes hip and cool from top to bottom.
Beautifully appointed rooms, extremely friendly staff with the perfect mix of being attentive but relaxed.
Has a lovely pool and little beach area with paddle boards and kayaks so you can explore the harbour and float amongst the mega yachts that are right outside the property. Restaurant and bar are open to public but the private areas for residents are strictly enforced, which is to be commended!
Excellent on site restaurant and don’t miss a cocktail in the lobby bar looking at the boats you can’t afford.
Great location for the livelier nights in the harbour but private enough to avoid the party if you choose.
I would certainly return , only point that could be improved would be a more proactive drink service around the pool as the phone they give you is not visible in the sun, a minor gripe as overall it’s an excellent choice.
