Modern, clean, good location

Traveling with my sister, we chose this hotel because of its central location - and going by the locations of other hotels when we were on coach tour pick ups this was a great choice. What wasn't obvious at any point until we got there is that there are certain streets that coaches aren't allowed down in the town centre so there is no way your airport transfer coach is going to drop you off outside this hotel - the drop off point is stop 10 which is only a short walk away, maybe four minutes or so, which was fine for us but may not be fine for everyone. The hotel is modern and very clean and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was decent enough with plenty of options and I loved making my own waffles! The rooms have everything you need and excellent showers, and I barely heard a sound in our ground floor room (behind reception) so I slept great, which I don't often do in hotels. I had no complaints about this hotel whatsoever and would stay there again.

Lovely city centre hotel

Lovely modern hotel in Reykjavík city centre. Rooms are comfy with good en suite facilities. Breakfast is great with plenty of fresh produce to start off the day. Restaurant is open 11.30 till about 9 and serves tasty choices. Take advantage of the 10% discount for residents which helps cut the cost of meals in the city. Also has pleasant lounge for enjoying a “ Happy Hour “ refreshment 3pm till 6pm.
Hotel provides a mobile phone for local calls and internet which was handy when out exploring the city. Google maps helped to find places of interest.
All staff were efficient and helpful during stay.
Hotel is a 5 minute walk from bus stop 10 where many pick up / drop off bus trips stop including airport transfer. Great service.
We would not stay anywhere else if we were to return to Reykjavík.

We booked this hotel as part of a package with TUI. The rooms are a good size and very comfortable, my mum requested feather pillows which were in the room when we arrived. Staff were friendly (except the staff at breakfast each morning, they weren't so friendly) The bar team were fabulous and couldn't do enough to assist. They provided us with ice and glasses so we could partake in a little drink in our room and we dined in the restaurant on the Tuesday evening (half price eve) which was excellent food and service. I would absolutely recommend this centralised hotel for a stay in Iceland. Its location is central, near to all restaurants and supermarkets (a godsend as Iceland is so expensive, it means you can pick up your own supplies) The hotel allows a 10% discount off the food/wine and the rose wine is very good! Breakfast was included and was a good selection of pastries, cooked breakfast, toast, waffles, cereals and fresh fruit/yoghurt etc..I could not fault our experience and have already recommended this to others visiting Iceland in the near future.

Great stay in Iceland.

Stayed at the Alba in March. Excellent location. Rooms good size & clean. Warm room. Ate at the Brass Restaurant twice during our stay & partner had the Fish & chip's twice as it was so good. I had the Fish stew which was also very good. I would recommend this hotel to all.

Great for new year fireworks

Good location, on the main street but not noisy, good meals in the restaurant, very nice lounge area, friendly staff and nice comfortable rooms. Would stay here again without a doubt, Iceland itself is very expensive so, unfortunately, it's not likely to be for a while.
