The Review

Amid the shops, galleries and studios of Buenos Aires’s trendy Palermo Soho neighborhood, the 11-room Glu Hotel is a family-run spot that feels like an intimate home but looks like an homage to sleek minimalism. While the surrounding area is busy at all hours, the property has double-paneled walls and double-paned windows that create a quiet haven. The sanctuary-like vibe is reflected in the use of calming yellows, tans and chocolates in the rooms and common areas.

Unlike in many of Buenos Aires’s hotels, the three room types — the Glam Suite, the Glu Suite and the Luxe Suite — are uniformly spacious, with King beds, lounge areas, bar-top kitchen spaces, leather furniture and roomy bathrooms. Most rooms sleep more than a pair,{“type”:”img-inline”,”src”:”/static/images/product/properties/2887/prop-56126-1338411732-full.jpg”,”width”:”275″,”caption”:”The interiors show off a sharp, modern style, but the family-run property has an intimate vibe.”} though the Glu Hotel attracts couples and friends precisely for its space and personal touches. Expect plush robes and slippers in your room, plus fresh-cut flowers across the property.

The shared spaces in the hotel make good use of the territory as well. The main entrance opens onto a furnished bar area, where the tasty continental breakfast is served each morning. Guests sit on the cream leather couches, sipping strong coffee while perusing local and international publications or plotting a daytime itinerary with the help of the knowledgeable concierge.

Also on the ground floor is a small lounge area and a Scottish shower (a supershower with turbo jets) and sauna facilities — great for early check-in or late check-out — plus a back patio set up with tables and chairs and lit with votives at night. The rooftop terrace offers views of the surrounding low-rise neighborhood from wooden lounge chairs and a small Jacuzzi. Escape here for a dose of calm at the end of a day exploring this cosmopolitan corner of Buenos Aires.

Great Hotel and Staff!
Reviewed 2 days ago

The Glu is a great place to stay and the staff are all really helpful. The rooms are nice with plenty of space and nicely decorated.

Breakfast is very nice and brought to the room daily.

I had an issue with the internet and they did everything they could to address it including moving to another room. It was much appreciated!

The hotel has lots of eating/bar options just outside the door.

Overall I certainly recommend the Glu!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Glu Hotel. It’s located in a very convenient location in palermos Soho and the staff could not have been more accommodating or friendlier. We will definitely stay here again.

Amazing boutique hotel in a great location

I was in Buenos Aires for business and this hotel had been recommended to me by a colleague. The location is fantastic, an easy walk to many restaurants, bars and shops in Palermo Soho.

The staff is nothing less than amazing. I spent a week there, and by the second day I was greeted by name when I came back to the hotel from the worksite, Breakfast is included and served in your room. Just call down and tell them what you want -- I had orange juice, strawberry yogurt, croissants, scrambled eggs, a banana and cappuccino every morning. They noted the order so if you want the same thing every day, you don't have to repeat yourself. I'd call down and in about ten minutes it was at my room.

The staff is great at making recommendations, and reservations. I came in after 9 one night and I was dead tired, I asked if there was food that could be delivered. He told me that he could get a pizza delivered pretty quickly. He asked me what I wanted on it and I told him. He said he'd take care of it. I went to my room and less than a minute after I got there the phone rang. It was reception telling me that they can get one delivered in for 380 pesos. I told him that sounds good. He said he'd take care of it, pay for it, and bring to my room and I can give him the cash for it. Half an hour later, there he was, with my pizza. So appreciative that he took care of it all.

This is a delightful hotel. I hope to travel back to BA for tourism some day, and this is where I want to stay.

Modern Hotel

We stopped at The Glu for 3 nights in February 2019.

As the other reviews have testified .. the staff at the hotel are great. Truly welcoming and helpful.

The location too is good, especially for the Palermo district which is home to some great restaurants and bars, cool shops and characterful streets full of colonial style one level buildings that have been given a hipster makeover.

B.A is a great walking city as it's mainly flat, and it's some distance to the nearest metro station from The Glu.

The room we stayed in was large and equipped with a little breakfast bar and sink area and with en-suite bathroom. There was a small balcony with a table and two chairs which we used for breakfast every morning. It was on the 2nd floor and you could hear other doors slamming in neighbouring rooms (soft close mechanisms would be a good addition).

Breakfast is in room (there's no menu in the room - something that could be easily addressed). You dial down from 8.15am and request from a list given over the phone. The following morning was easier as we were asked whether we wanted the same as the day before. Coffee is served in a cup, rather than a pot which for a caffeine hound like me left me feeling a bit under resourced!

It was only on the second day that I got in to a conversation and found out that you could infect take breakfast downstairs (there's a small outdoor area) if you wanted. And in all fairness, I think if I'd asked for more coffee I don't think it would have been a problem.

The pictures of the hotel show what looks like a great roof terrace. Unfortunately, during our stay this wasn't available due to renovations. It would have been a perfect place to chill out if it had been and an email before hand would have been appreciated telling us that it was not available.

However another plus was the free water. Got quite a few bottles of it during our stay.

Overall, it's a good bet. Certainly felt appreciated from the staff and the drawbacks I mentioned are minor but worth knowing.

Fantastic short stay!

Unfortunately we were only in BA for a night, but the front desk staff was so helpful before our trip (arranged Taxi Ezeiza from the airport, cheaper than their shuttle service), arranging taxis while their, giving us touring advice. We booked the most basic room but I think we may have gotten an upgrade since the room was huge! Very beautiful, with a great bathroom, closet, kitchenette. Hotel is located in the best neighborhood with tons of shops and cute restaurants within walking distance! Also very quiet and easy to sleep! Would 100% recommend and stay again!
