How to Get There
This is very central and a two minute stroll to the Congress building and nearby Pink Palace. An old colonial building with very high ceilings but we found the high red chandeliers made everywhere very dark indeed. Our room had a full wall curtain which, when pulled back, only had one very small window overlooking an unused courtyard. Clean enough but somehow lacked atmosphere - which is should have had as Eva Peron stayed here once. The booking in was a nightmare and the staff sour faced and not wanting to be on duty. As for the tiny two lifts - only one was working and didn't give out much confidence. Only took two people in comfort and on checking out day proved another challenge (when the lift eventually arrived). Buenos Aires is a great city, lots to do and look at. We found La Americana down the street and it as easily the best pizza we have ever eaten. It was a quiet hotel, bed was comfy, had the usual safe and plenty of good towels.
We spent 3 weeks here recently. We loved it. Comfortable beds, A quiet room with a view on Av. Callao. A spacious well equipped bathroom..ample storage for our clothing ,a desk and a fridge...the AC kept us cool on 3 sweltering days. Walk in the grand lobby, ballroom and hallways and you can see and feel the history that makes Buenos Aires so unique. The staff is kind, attentive and really do look out for you. The breakfast is varied and delicious ..hot and cold items and very generous and served in a luvly dining room. The grand hotel bar with a full menu..for a meal, snack or glass of wine had a friendly and attentive waitstaff ..we found it was a comfortable place to relax after a long day of sightseeing . The subway (Subte) was a short 5 minute walk..the hotel has a great central location. We would happily stay there again.
Fabulous hotel as you would expect from the Savoy. Good location, great room with a fab bed and bathroom. Plenty of storage space.
Reception very nice.
Only negative was that the corridors and staircases were dark.
A wonderful hotel full of character and history oozing from every corner. It’s a little jaded to be honest. Aside from the ground floor the hotel is dark and dingy but the overall experience is wonderful.
We really enjoyed our stay in Savoy hotel. The staff there very professional , helpful and friendly. Specially Anna at the front desk. Thanks guys.Because we like it so much we are going back again .And the breakfast was excellent and the restaurant too..
