How to Get There
We stayed at Casa Calma for only one night and I wish we had more time there! The room is clean, bed is comfortable and big, jacuzzi works perfectly fine as well as the scottish shower and the dry sauna. Its a perfect hotel for couples.
Breakfast was good, with many options and you can have it in your room if you prefer.
The staff is very nice and helpful, which makes all the difference.
They offer bath salts as courtesy and other products that you can buy. There is Nespresso machine in the room but the capsules have an extra cost, as well as any bottle of water there.
Great stay for romantic and wellness moments!
Very pleasant and reliable staff. Due to the small scale they are able to pay attention to details and customize the service for you. Fast and diligent!
Nice bright large and well equipped rooms.
Breakfast was nice (selection of eggs/omelette to be ordered was very good) and the staff active.
The open bathroom with jacuzzi for 2 is nice. Bed is comfy and you can turn on the reversible AC for heat if needed.
So far I felt safe in the neighborhood.
Remark: like in most hotels the list of TV channels does not have English. So I brought a USB drive with movies, my usual workaround. However I've been surprised to find a pretty old TV model without neither USB port nor internet access. The room design is nice but that TV doesn't fit in. I had to use my second workaround (laptop) to watch English content. The WiFi quality/speed is good.
Note to the management: a veil layer would be appreciated behind the curtain
Our family of five spent two nights in two rooms at Casa Calma in mid July and had a very nice stay. The hotel is in a good location for visiting many of the major historical sites on foot. The rooms were very large and ours had small one-person saunas that were really nice to sit in after a long, cool day of sightseeing. The staff was very friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. The breakfast was nice -- nothing too fancy or extensive, but everything we needed to start our day -- though the breakfast room is a bit small. Only a couple minor hiccups. First, one of our rooms had a really bad sewage smell for the first day and a half. We let management know and they took care of it while we were out for the day (and left us a nice note of apology and a plate of cookies). Second, the rooms have a bit of a funky set up, with the 'bedroom area' flowing right into the 'bathroom area.' It's not too bad, but there is definitely a lack of privacy, especially since the water closet doesn't have a full door. Overall, a very nice stay. I would recommend to people who want to stay in the central business district, while also being close to Puerto Modero and Recoleta.
