An amazing experience on Lake Geneva's shores

There is nothing that says more about a hotel than its personnel. Hotel des Trois Couronnes has a wonderful team of friendly, helpful, professional people who will go the extra mile to ensure you have the perfect stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the spa area which is very well laid out with a garden to enjoy the sun conveniently located outside. The views of the lake are exceptional even through the clouds and rain! Despite the weather forecast, we were lucky to enjoy many hours of sunshine during the day, and the gift of transportation vouchers is excellent to help you get around and leave your car at the hotel. We enjoyed a tour around the lake on one of the steamers, which was fun and ensured we saw a lot more of the area than we might have done otherwise. Lots to see and do on foot near the hotel, so our two-day stay was a perfect sampling of the town of Vevey.

We were celebrating a special anniversary and had dinner in 3C on our second evening. Our waiter presented us with a little treat at the end of our meal to mark our 22 years together! The food in the restaurant was excellent in every way, and not as expensive as we would have thought. A delightful surprise! Thank you to the Hotel's team. We will be back again! Keep up the great work!

Wonderful property with a few minor issues

I really would give this property 4.5 stars - it's not perfect, but pretty close.

Positives - the location is unbeatable in terms of access to the town, the lake and the ferry. Rooms facing the lake have spectacular views and are quite large with clean, modern bathrooms. The terrace restaurant where you can take breakfast and other meals is lovely, food is wonderful and the service is great. Gym is well appointed with new, updated equipment, which is unusual for some historic properties. Spa is beautiful with nice amenities (although my service was not so great) and the lawn area with chairs overlooking the lake is a great place to relax and read even if there is no pool. Nice touches such as complimentary snack and small bottle of wine on the first night.

Negatives - As some reviewers mention, there are some "tired" aspects of the hotel, e.g. little tears in carpeting, furniture in rooms that is a tad bit worn, or old elevators. I found this to be part of the charm, but there are certainly properties (like the Royal Savoy in Lausanne) that have been completely renovated and none of those minor issues are present. I would not let that distract you from staying at the hotel. I found the service to be varied. Most at the front desk and at the restaurant were wonderful, but a few were so-so in terms of being helpful. Also I pre-paid for a terrace room and did not receive it which I found frustrating. Lastly, my spa service was very bad and very expensive.

Top-class property in unbeatable location overlooking Lake Geneva
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We stayed for 2 nights during short trip to Geneva. On our dates all hotels in Geneva were either fully booked or unreasonably priced. Being Leaders club member and knowing about this hotel I decided to go with this option along with renting a car to go to Geneva as I did have meeting there. Can say now that it was just superb decision. Hotel is really very high class and I know what I'm saying - use to stay in luxury hotels all over the world, in the last 2 years it was 20th LHW hotel where we were staying. Your perfect experience starts from check in and continues till the time you leave the hotel doors. Location is just perfect – in the center of Vevey, on the bank of Lake Geneva with breathtaking views of the lake and mountains on the other side. Hotel is offering free parking which is very convenient if you travel with car. Building itself is gorgeous - old style, it brings you century back in time while still having all modern comforts which we use to have in 21st century. As Leaders club members we were upgraded to Junior Suite - it was gorgeous, high ceilings, with huge extremely comfortable bed, living area with sofa and armchairs, big fireplace, big wardrobe. Bathroom is very big with bathtub and oversized walk-in shower and big window. There are also 2 WCs which is very convenient. Also, Suite has 3 huge floor-to-ceiling French windows, big balcony where one can sit and relax. We also found in the room on arrival chilled white wine and cookies as welcome amenity - nice touch. My only minor disappointment was that we didn't have Lake view - when booking i didn't precisely mention this preference and when we arrived hotel was indeed 100% booked. While it was probably the only minor thing - everything else was just perfect. Some personal touches really touch and amaze: worth mentioning individual wooden toothbrushes for every guest with your name engraved on it which one can find on arrival in the room or apples at reception engraved by laser with the hotel name and emblem - those small things can surprise even in the world where nowadays it is not easy to do. One other very practical and extremely useful thing they offer is Handy - it is Smartphone placed in each room which you can take with you and use during your stay - it has 4G so you can have unlimited use of Internet, also can make calls not only nationally while also internationally into almost all EU countries and more, also it has app with sightseeing/shopping suggestions - and all these things are free and unlimited during your stay - this is really exceptional service. Hotel has indoor swimming pool (around 24-25m long), saunas/steam baths located in the same area, one level upper they have outdoor sundeck with comfortable sun lounges and splendid view over the lake. Scented water/herbal tea and some fruits are offered in this SPA area – again small while very pleasant touch. Breakfast was just excellent, with huge variety and excellent cold and hot dishes and again great lake view. We also did have dinner in the hotel’s 3C restaurant and cocktails in the bar - it was equally good experience. Staff is just amazing trying to fulfill all your needs and going above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and pampered. On the last day despite hotel was fully booked they managed on our request to provide us with late check-out at 14.00 and after this we still were able to enjoy all the hotel facilities (pool/sun lounges etc). All in all we enjoyed our stay very much and can highly recommend the hotel for those seeking memorable luxurious experience on the Lake Geneva

Just magic!

This hotel was just amazing. I did not find anything not at the best it could be. It is just perfect. The staff is very professional and nice, the rooms are beautiful, clean, the spa gorgeous (pretty rare to have such a long swimming pool), the overall installations very nice and stylish. The brunch was just the best one, really impressive. I will definitely come back and would recommend it to anyone!
