Overview

Swiss Riviera grande dame overlooking Lake Lucerne with a Michelin-starred restaurant and Tibetan-inspired spa

The Look

Opened in 1875 as the Hotel Bellevue, the Park Weggis maintains its Art Nouveau façade, but everything else has gotten a modern update. Think Molteni furnishings in bright reds, golds and blues, Philippe Starck lighting, and a state-of-the-art spa, its six treatment cottages set amid pebbled Japanese gardens (complete with bonsai trees), and a heated outdoor pool with mood lighting. And right on the shore of Lake Lucerne, with the Alps as your back yard, you’ll never want for things to do, whatever the season.

Bed and Bath

With just 52 guestrooms, the property has an intimate feel; this is the kind of place where the white-gloved staff remembers your name. The throughly modern vibe extends to the rooms — the interiors are sharp and sleek, and all have such luxe touches as flat-screen televisions, rain showers and Bose stereos. All rooms overlook Lake Lucerne or the lush gardens, and plush Junior Suites come with spacious balconies or terraces to soak up the sparkling lake views.

Beyond

Park Weggis is an epicurean’s dream, with three restaurants, including the Michelin-starred Annex, where chef Renee Rischmeyer’s inventive Asian-inflected fare (such as pea wasabi soup with coconut mousse, and tea-smoked duck breast) is served on Versace tableware. The hotel’s wine cellar, with 2,600 labels, is considered the best in Switzerland. And regardless of the season, the Park Weggis has a certain magical appeal. In summer it hums with activity. Guests raise tropical drinks, bikini-clad swimmers dive into the blue water of Lake Lucerne, and children scamper along the shore. In winter it’s a cozy hideaway set against the backdrop of the snow-covered Alps. Days are spent skiing, snowshoeing or tobogganing — or just drinking in the Narnia-like setting in the comfort of five-star luxury.

What a view!!!

We only spend 1 night in this Hotel, but i felt like a whole vacation. The room we had was on the second or third floor with a big balcony facing the lake. We did not wanted to leave the room since the view was so nice. The breakfast was perfect. There is a little town near by with in walking distance. The Spa is small with a big outdoor pool. The garden right by the lake with beach an water access is lovely. A lot to do as well. Kayaks and stand up paddle boards are free to use. We loved it.

Sorry to see it close

Set on the shores of the Vierwaltstätter See, surroundings like in a fairy tale. Quiet, wonderful beach area, close to the little village of Weggis.

This is a hotel we would recommend to everyone, but I am sorry to say that this hotel is about to close. The new owners will turn it into a clinic of some sorts.

This hotel is for people who wants to enjoy Luzern lake away from the city. It is not too far from Luzern city (20 miles).

The room is specious comparing to the European hotels and has great view over the lake. The hotel has three good restaurants and Spa. It also has small beach and beach lounge. The facilities are very good.

I felt home in this hotel and staff were very helpful and kind.

Beautiful Hotel in wonderful place

The hotel really liked, nice comfortable room. Liked the bar in the Spa, where you can drink tea or coffee, eat fresh fruits. Delicious breakfast with a view of the lake. Very beautiful Japanese garden. The beach is simply excellent, beautiful and comfortable, and the view is simply stunning. I also liked the beach bar. But the most remarkable is the pool with warm water.

Good but not great.

The service was good when it was available. Unfortunately, there were parts of the hotel not staffed or closed entirely. The food in the restaurants was very average; not bad, but not great. There is an excellent wine list. The suite was very nice.
