Overview

A dose of SoCal Cool with a London twist is the winning combination at this chic Sunset Strip hideaway

The Lowdown

Make like a Hollywood starlet at this West Coast sister to the feted New York property. The vibe mixes old-school glamour — best exemplified by the glitzy London Bar — with classic Californian pursuits like rooftop yoga classes, hand-crafted cocktails and shopping excursions to nearby Rodeo Drive. The tasteful, residential feel of the rooms comes courtesy of interiors guru David Collins, while the food, from gourmet breakfast spreads to poolside snacks, springs from the mind of London-born celeb chef, Gordon Ramsay.

In the Area

While visitors may head to the storied Rodeo Drive for shopping and celeb scoping, the locals head to nearby Melrose Avenue and West Third Street for the real action: Marc Jacobs, Fred Segal and Vince all have outposts and Joan’s on Third, Urth Caffé and Toast routinely cater to the celebrity brunching set. If you’re looking for something close to home, get a hearty dose of leafy veggies at the new West Hollywood outpost of Tender Greens or opt for some pork toro and sticky rice ice cream sandwiches at Night + Market, just down the street from the London. When it’s time to unwind, the Sunset Blvd. Mondrian has one of the city’s best rooftops, and nearby Greystone Manor hosts internationally-acclaimed DJs multiple nights a week.

Chic with a warm welcome

Just a fabulous stay. The design of the hotel is lovely, especially in the lobby bar and sitting room. They even have a custom room fragrance that wafts through the lobby as you walk in. Very subtle, but it smells amazing. Wish I could have some for my own home!!

Buffet breakfast is complimentary and, boy, was it yummy. Thank you Abigail for chatting with us every day!! She had great recommendations regarding the menu and sights to see. Really all of the staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome.
We’ll definitely be back!

The Restaurant Is Incredible

The restaurant here is really something special. It’s a beautiful atmosphere with a great view. If you’re lucky you may even get to see an A-lister grubbing here. The service staff were particularly amazing and served us like we were royalty. Shout out to Ashley the host who sat us even though the main restaurant was closed for an event, Robert our attentive server handled our complex requests even with a bunch of tables & the manager Jefferey even paid a visit to our table to check up on us. The portobello mushroom burger is a definite go to. If you’re looking for top notch service with delicious food and not too crazy LA prices, this is the place.
