Overpriced but beautiful
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Reserved a room through a hotel booking site requesting an ocean view room. Arrived at check-in time and processed by a charming young woman who made us feel right at home. However, we were given keys to a room at the back of the inn overlooking the parking lot and adjacent mobile home park. When I asked about my ocean view room I was told none available, however, a partial ocean view would be available soon. We waited an hour and 15 minutes for the maid to finish cleaning but was offered wine and a chance to relax on the front porch. The room on the first floor with very small and did have a partial ocean view. However, the room was crowded with a fridge, an armoire, bedside tables and no place to sit. A gorgeous bathroom but no shelf space for toiletries. Because of the historical designation the inn is priced high. Plus we were charged a higher tourist fee than was quoted online. No A/C and the TV requires a computer whiz to activate. Very disappointed as this evening was meant to be a special treat.

A wonderful Inn

This was our final stop at our California roadtrip (May), an unfortunately we only had one night at this beautiful Inn.
When we arrived we where welcomed by a very kind and helpful girl, who showed us around, and was sure that we could enjoy the afternoon tapas, cake and wine, which was very tasteful.
Our room had everything we could need, a nice bed, fireplace and big whirlpool.
The breakfast was very delicious with a vegan frittata, blueberry pancakes, English muffins...
The Inn is placed right next to the beach, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and Municipal Wharf (Pier).

Like a B&B but also like a hotel. Our room was gorgeous and the attached bathroom was beautiful and covered in marble. The wood moldings are very stately. The Happy Hour and breakfast were fabulous with extremely nice food and many choices. About a 3/4 mile walk to downtown and right across from the ocean. Definitely recommend!

Superior Spa - with Seagulls!
Reviewed 6 months ago

We stayed in one of the spa suites with a jetted tub on the third floor. It was by far one of the best hotel rooms I’ve ever enjoyed and definitely the most luxurious bathroom. The bathroom has a sky light over the jetted tub, which has plenty of room for two adults.

Bonus feature: Have you ever seen the underside of a seagull? Now you can! A seagull lands on the skylight around 9 am every morning; you can look up and watch this majestic bird from below.
