How to Get There
Great experience with the staff, the room, the food all was enjoyable. The hotel was help us even prior to arrival as my husband has a slight disability so they were able to upgrade our room to an ADA right near the elevator. March Madness was going on my husband big college basketball fans were able to mix my business meeting with some pleasure. The Virginia Tech basketball team was staying at the Hotel.
Friendly staff at check in and clean, quiet rooms with very comfortable beds. Just a short walk to the Levis stadium. Did not try the hotel restaurant, but there was a fantastic grill restaurant in the stadium. Very good breakfast.
I have beena Globalist at Hyatt fir the last 3 years and a custoner if Hyatt for 30. Over the last few years I have between 20 to 30 days at this location. It is a sad day when a Courtyard Marriott far outperforms what is supposed to be one of Hyatt's premirt locations just blocks fron Levi Stadium.
The "Voted best place to work" sign is no longher there (I assume status was lost). The hotel is dingy and in need if a good cleaning and paint job. The Globalist Lounge has been closed for months and not scheduled to open again until June(they are offering a 40.00 credit at checkout but that helps my company, not me). Wifi is so weak, it is difficult to stream, even with the 9.95 upgraded wifi. Someone decided it was a good idea to paint the gold elevator buttons black and the paint is scraping off (very tacky). With no warning whatsoever, much to my surprise, my Globalist status was downgraded. All of this for over $350 per night, 29.00 to valet, and no help from the bellman (seems parking for Levi Stadium has become a higher priority than helping guests)7. At my stay last week, the front desk neglected to give my dry cleaning to the daily service and only after inquiring that evening as to the status of my needed clothing, did I learn of the issue. I had no white shirt or suit jacket for my next day's meeting. Not funny at all.
One consistently positive experience? The bartenders are pleasant, attentive and experienced.
Hyatt, you are getting by with these declining standards because of your proximity to the stadium and hotel occupancy rates.
Evidently, you have also become dance competition central on the weekends, which equates to a hotel full of harmonal adolescents running through the hallways and lounge with their caboodles and costume racks fetching their wine drinking moms to help locate their fake eyelashes and fishnets.
Bring Jimmy back to manage the staff. His departure is when the standard went straight through the floor. So disappointing.
Marriott's new loyal customer,
I booked a breakfast inclusive package at this hotel. The hotel claimed they were unable to service this and instead suggested I pick items from their restaurant menu. The restaurant staff had no clue of this arrangement. 20 mins and with none of the ordered items in sight, I ended up walking out with practically no breakfast.
The hotel itself is conveniently located next to convention center. It has a couple of restaurants inside, and a few within a couple of miles. So plenty of options for food.
The rooms are what one would expect in a property at this price in the region.
Excellent customer service. Excellent Staff and beautiful rooms. One of my favorite hotels. The staff really cares about your experience and quickly responds to questions, wants or needs. I highly recommend the Hyatt Santa Clara for your stay in the Northern California Area.
