Wish I were at the hotel. Shuttle no showed.

I was looking forward to this business trip. The hotel looks great online. Unfortunately, I have been waiting in the hotel shuttle shelter at SFO for 90 plus minutes. I've watched every other Marriott shuttle come by at least four times. I've called. They can't reach their shuttle contractor. I've been told I'll be reimbursed for a cab after my 90 minutes. I hope that's true. I needed to be picked up on time to set up a conference. Marriott service seems to feel thats not their issue. Note to others. Don't believe it when they offer transportation. The cab for a six mile trip is $50.00. Plan accordingly.

Top rating because of its management

PROs: the architect tried and succeeded in avoiding the usual squared block: you get to a place with resemblance of a Mission or a colonial building -nice. Rooms are tremendously large, as the corridors: a place to breathe. Nice courtyard with heated pool. Nice breakfast area and buffet. The management assisted me running the extra mile for myself and a colleague of mine. I have to say that the whole team was very kind, but one of the duty managers (Jannine was her name?) was especially getting things done for my needs.
CONs: Let me think of one. Maybe: some suites have no window in the first room.
Conclusions: this is not an usual Airport Hotel. It's a place to chill, relax and it's unusual spacey. The management runs it with great care.

Under renovation

I expect this hotel will be very nice once the renovations a complete. I did not realize the elevators would be out of service. There were other elevators, but they were a long hike down the hall.

The rooms were nice. The living and sleeping areas had a dividing door, which was very nice. The shower has the extra shower wand, and the water pressure is decent. The TV does not have any Disney channels, but it does have Netflix.

The executive lounge is closed during the remodeling, but they offered a free appetizer and drink, and a free breakfast. The buffet included an omelette station! Our server in the evening was not the most pleasant. But maybe it just wasn’t a good night. The food was good enough.

The parking is overpriced, especially considering there are no alternatives. It should be free for guests - we’re not in downtown SF, after all. There did not appear to be much nearby - a Trader Joe’s and some clothing stores - but I did not notice any restaurants or nice walking areas. Basically, it’s not too far from the airport (on a weekend) and that is the only benefit to staying here.
