What a hidden gem in the heart of San Marcos!
Reviewed 1 day ago

Beautiful scenery and location in the heart of San Marcos. Had no idea there was a lake in the area surrounded by some very nice houses. Was there for an early Mother's Day surprise for my Mom. Upgraded from a view of the parking lot to a view of the lake for $30 and it was totally worth it! Right on the water and 2 buildings over from the very nice restaurant. Happy hour was also a surprise but will save that for the Dockside Restaurant review.

Totally Enamoured!

Lorayne, Morgan, Jenna, Shay, and Emily are so super sweet, helpful & they made our stay quite magical. Lunch & Dinner at Decoy is a plus! The drinks are cold and strong, and the food is soooo good. Best Kalamari rings ever. Paddle boarding is a must! Didn’t catch the guys’ names at the Marina but they were funny, yet professional. Can’t wait to have my wedding guests experience The Lakehouse this October.

Facility was nice the pools were good. Pool Bartender needs some work. I understand location and bugs but the amount of spider webs on the balcony was excessive to say the least. We had a spider web that took up roughly 1 square foot of the upper strike jamb at the front door. Very little room inside the room No microwave no couch 1 chair. No TV channel guide Not everyone has dish. No USB friendly ports on any appliance or outlets, I stayed at a travel Lodge that had them 4 years ago. I asked for a role away bed one guy said they were out the next day I was told my room was a fire hazard and not allowed. The inhouse café was nice. I get the whole your on the water theme and prices would be a little more but I feel like what was not present did not out way that for the price. Also upon arrival they tell you that its a $100 deposit per night they hold.

My most recent visit

This was my third visit to Lakehouse Hotel and Resort and just like the previous visits everything was perfect. This hotel/resort prides itself on pampering their customers. From the moment you check-in and receive your free Smores kit, to all the friendly hotel workers, comfy clean rooms, and wonderful restaurant staff this place is a great place to stay.

Fun Staycation

Litte gem in San Marcos. Little boutique resort with all the amenities of an overpriced chain resort. Great spot for a short get away. Resort is very family friendly with lots of fun activities without the expensive fees. Bike, paddle board, kayak, water bikes all available at no extra charge. Multiple pools and firepits. Quiet, peaceful and so relaxing!
