Reviews

Really nice, great location

Overall my stay was very nice. I had a studio suite, which was certainly on the larger side, but a colleague had a regular room, and they were very small. I read reviews that said the light rail and street were noisy, which they were, but I live in a city so the noise really didn't bother me or seem excessive, and I was literally right off the main street only 2 floors up. If you are sensitive to noise, I'd ask for a room facing the side street. The bed was very comfortable and I really liked the lavender they give you for sleeping. The staff was very courteous, and the hotel overall seemed very clean. I would stay there again for sure.

Nice visit & the mystery of room 100

Stayed in the Westin San Jose for three nights while attending a conference next door at the the convention center. The room was very large and well appointed. There were outlets in all the right places, the Wi-Fi functions properly and I liked the shower and bed. As others had mentioned, the room was located on the street side so a light sleeper might be bothered by the sound of cars and public transportation. It was not a problem for me. As for room 100 - I take the stairs vs the elevator and noticed a room between the 2nd floor and the lobby apparently only accessible by the stairwell. I asked the front desk and was told that is is a fancy, large private guest room, available to be booked. It is apparently inexpensive during weekends but can command some pretty steep rates mid week. The whole thing fits in nicely with the old school cool of this hotel. The hotel’s location worked really well for me on this business trip and I had a lovely stay. Tap on the thumbs up icon just below if this review helped you.

Very outdated rooms and facilities

I visited for one night for business and my bed literally looked like someone had slept on it. It turned out to be that the bed linens and blankets were as old as the hotel as also on the next room I was given, it looked almost the same.

All-in-all this hotel needs some proper facelifting soon.

Also there was a huge fight during breakfast between two ladies (a real fight) and the staff did not react in any way. Only after the situation had eased a gentleman from the kitchen had to come and escort one of the ladies out.

Definitely not going back again.

Reception and restaurant staff were nice.
