How to Get There
Loved our room, proximity to everything, Staff was over and above nice & helpful! Restaurant was delicious & adorable! Valet parking was so quick & bell staff courteous also! Our room was perfectly clean & luxurious!
Stayed here because it was the bridal party hotel for the wedding I was attending. The rooms were pretty basic. I found out this was one of the oldest hotels in San Jose. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It served its purpose without anything special. There is an Italian restaurant in the lobby. You have to valet your car which is an extra $39 a night. Don’t think I would stay here again due to the several nicer hotels on the same block.
We stayed at The Westin while attending a conference at the convention center. The Westin is within walking distance to everything and the concierge was extremely helpful in directing me to points of interest, even patiently explaining the directions again when I called them because I was lost.
We checked in fairly late on Monday, staying until Friday. The location was very easy to find, the valet service definitely worth it, and the interior and exterior of the hotel is exquisite.
The check-in process was seamless. The elevator was always available, even though we used the stairs frequently.
The housekeeper we had for the whole week, Antonia, was very good. Our room was always welcoming and perfectly ordered when we arrived.
The room was extremely nice and spacious, the bed very comfortable. The desk area had plenty of space to spread out and work. The bathroom was very spacious, and the rain shower relaxing after a long day.
I worked in the business area, where the WiFi was always connected and fast. It was quiet and not crowded and I could go and go freely any time of the day.
The only reason for 4 stars is for a few minor issues. The street noise is very loud, although at least it did not continue into the late hours of the evening. There were mildew spots on the ceiling of the bathroom. And the ironing board cover was stained, which made me hesitate to put my clothes on it.
If we get back to San Jose, The Westin will be our hotel of choice.
We recently spent three nights at Westin Hotel, San Jose, CA (Formerly the Sainte Claire Hotel. Hotel location is in the center of San Jose...less than ten minutes to San Jose Int’l Airport. Room was very nice, but street noice was horrific from San Carlos Street traffic all night. Also Air Conditioning noise high. Outside exist many street people with ruin and feces smell...very discusting. Otherwise, Hotel service was really good.
Westin San Jose,
Formerly the St Claire Hotel, this San Jose Westin is not a cookie cutter Hotel but holds great architectural interest in design and decor. The high style luxurious decor of the lobby is is stunning. It’s across from the Marriott, near the Four Points Sheraton, the San Jose Convention Center, the museums of technology and art, and near many many restaurants. The rooms are well appointed with comfortable Westin beds, and fragrant bath amenities.
There is a restaurant, Il Fornaio, a high end Italian restaurant with good food, attached to Hotel.
I find the valet parking ridiculous at $39.00 and there is convention public parking across the street, and street parking ( but no parking in early morning hours).
