How to Get There
We were there on an overnight stop over. The staff was very courteous and did everything possible to accommodate our needs. The rooms were very nice and clean. We will definitely return to San Jose and we will stay at the Hyatt Downtown when we do.
Hyatt Place (San Jose),
This was my families first stay at a Hyatt Place. I have stayed many time with the Hyatt (Sac, SF). I am not sure we would ever stay here again based on our experience. I rented two rooms for my family for 3 days and 2 nights over the weekend (Friday thought Sunday). We were in San Jose for a big family reunion. I checked in by myself at 3:pm but did not go up to our rooms and left immediately for our reunion. My wife, kids and elderly aunts returned (about 11:pm) and went up to our rooms before I returned about 12:/12:15am. Upon my return, my daughter was already sleeping in one of the beds and my wife was getting out of the shower. I noticed food, drinks and mics. items all over the TV stand and in the refrigerator. I thought she had purchased food and items. When she was out of the shower I asked her about the food and she said, she thought I had already come and purchased the items. Immediately we looked around and she remember the show soap and items were already opened and used. We knew right away the bed was used, the food was used and the shower items were used. We concluded it was obvious that the room was not clean and you gave us a dirty room. At 12:30/12:45am I went down to the front desk with this issue. They gave us a close room to our elderly aunts and we proceeded to wake up my daughter, pack our things and move to the new room about 1:am. (Night one) Once we were in the new room, which was fine, I took a shower before bed. I was a bit irritated to fine the shower not draining and standing in dirty water. I just went to bed and told the front desk in the morning to please have it fixed. (day two) We returned from our 2nd day at our family reunion late in the night again, about 12:am. Everyone was hungry and I was counting on being able to order a late night snack for my family, only to find there was no food as the cook went home early because they were sick. This was very unpleasant information. I started to call around to several restaurants, even pizza just to find out no one was still delivering or open. (Day 3) Early in the morning I needed to take my elderly aunt to the airport so my hand were very full when I arrived at the elevator. The door was closing and I thought if I stuck my foot in the opening the door would stop closing as all other elevators I have ever used and it did not but proceeded to close on my ankle to the point of drawing blood. I guess I should not have done this but I expected it to hav
We really enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt.staff was a class act and the location was perfect and close to downtown.I would visit this hotel again in the future.our plans were for us to go to the sap center for a concert and after that we went downtown to visit a few bars and restraunts which all were in close proximity to the Hyatt.should have checked to see if they accepted AAA discount but forgot to ask.price was ok but would have liked something a little cheaper.
I brought my daughter, niece, and nephew (all teenagers) and was thrilled to see a long couch, in addition to the two beds, so my nephew didn't have to share!
The gym was very nice -- even has disposable headphones in case you forget yours.
Ooh, but no Food Network?!? Thankfully we watched a cooking show on PBS.
Conveniently central and located next to The Tech.
After a few so-so experiences at Hyatt locations in different cities, I was a little leery, but the proximity to the convention center is hard to beat. I ended up having a great stay! The staff at this location are super friendly and helpful, and the food (free full breakfast, very inexpensive but tasty lunch and dinner options) was far better than expected. Even though the hotel is close to the convention center, it was extremely quiet, and the rooms were extremely clean and well cared-for. The little snack bar, which is open 24/7, is also a great little bonus. Would definitely recommend if you're attending a convention.
