How to Get There
My husband and I stayed at the Staypineapple for just one night as our layover destination between flights. Though the area is in Union Square, the hotel is close to the Tenderloin which is considered a less safe area in San Fran. We did not experience any issues when walking around the hotel or coming back at night, and were quite impressed with the area. The hotel always has a 24/7 doorman which if you have security concerns, should help alleviate them. The staff is incredibly friendly and the hotel is very clean. Our room was small but comfortable for the two of us. Only complaint was that there is not a restaurant in the hotel. Thank you to the front desk team for getting us our room ready prior to check in! They do now have a few small plates from different vendors, but not a full menu. After our red eye flight the night before, all we wanted was to have dinner in the hotel and go to bed! It would be great if management could consider bringing food into this hotel which would make it the total package. Would definitely stay here again or other Staypineapple properties!
Thank you to all the staff at Staypineapple San Francisco! The friendly and efficient staff made our six night stay for business and pleasure a most pleasant experience. The front desk gave us great information on places to eat and attractions to see. They gave great advice on how to travel in the city. They also handled all our requests making it a joy to stay. The rooms were beautiful and the amenities were excellent. The bistro and bar on the first floor was very nice.
I'd recommend this hotel to anyone heading to San Francisco.
In lobby, for breakfast or working with a glass of wine, I felt so at home! Wait staff were very friendly. Ordering was like going to my own living room or kitchen. The experience was very, very comfortable. I looked forward to being on the lobby.
I stayed at the staypineapple hotel in San Francisco for 3 nights with my wife, the hotel is lovely. The staff are friendly. Great cocktails in the pineapple lounge. They leave cakes and coffee in the reception every night for guests which is a nice touch. Loads off nice restaurants and bars nearby also. Great place to stay if you’re visiting the city.
The rooms are on the small size, but clean and well furnished although they smelled of dog. (We are not anti dogs, having had dogs at home, but don't want a room that smells of dog on our holiday at US$350 a night!) Only some windows have double glazing or decent seals, so you are wakened by the garbage and delivery trucks at 5am. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a real disappointment. The promotional video shows bowls of berries etc. however there was no berries or whole wheat toast just dead bananas and apples and croissants served at the bar.
