How to Get There
We appreciated the room with club access. Although slightly more expensive, the club provided to us a welcome place to relax from our trips in SF with a wonderful view of the Bay, and have breakfast in the mornings. Hotel is centrally located on Embarcadero, and can be easily reached by public transport from the internation airport (using the BART train service). From here cable cars and busses start, as well as restaurants in Market Street are within walking distance. Rooms are well equipped and serviced, a perfect location while visiting SF.
Booked here through booking.com (did originally book through the hotel website, found it cheaper on booking.com, asked if the hotel site would match, they said no, so cancelled and booked through booking.com haha!)
A quick walk down the street after getting off the subway (also at the bottom of steep California Street, so lots of beautiful cable cars going by) and you're there!
Reception was up 2-3 flights of escalators, because there were big conference rooms downstairs and the lobby was MASSIVE. Very artsy, a big sculpture right in the middle and LOTS of seating.
Check in was pretty quick and staff were friendly. We arrived around 3pm, so were able to go straight to the room. There was a SMALL grocery style shop and the breakfast area here too, but we didn't pay for breakfast and the shop was expensive, so didn't bother. Also a gift shop and gym.
Our room was lovely! Floor 30-something, reached by very cute elevators, with a lovely view of the sea and the Ferry Building!
We emailed ahead of our stay to let the hotel know this was a birthday trip for someone who loved pizza and if they could do anything special, it would be great. We were just taking it all in and unpacking, when we had a knock at the door, it was a birthday pizza and cake!!! SO amazing and appreciated and delicious too!
The room was spacious for the 4 of us (2 double beds) with a sink outside the bathroom so we could use the mirror while others were in the bathroom (toilet and bath with shower & hair dryer) and a lovely balcony!
Fresh towels and toiletries each day, as well as new coffee pods and cups for the coffee machine, fridge too.

Right by the Ferry Building and a short walk or bus ride to the main shops. The Pride Parade also started pretty much outside the hotel, which was great for us, because we missed it in New York the year before. Also a bus stop outside, which we got to the Golden Gate Bridge (the doorman was very friendly and told us which one to get). A Walgreens just across the road and a Safeway about 3 blocks away, so we came here most of the time as there was more choice.
Can't really fault this hotel, it was lovely and made our stay even better.
Great location. Parking was reasonable. Our kids loved the Regency Club. Near a playground. Walking distance to Fisherman’s Wharf. Would highly recommend. Great restaurants within walking distance. Nice fitness area. Two thumbs up.
