How to Get There
Stayed here for a weekend was very unimpressed to say the least.
The location is probably the only plus about this property.
The guest rooms are alright in space and comfort yet nothing over the top or uniquely local in any way. The wood floors seem cheap and not comforting to be on.
The service is very subpar and seems a lack of effort is put in. The experience seems standard which is unfortunate given the price of this property.
A let down for a Hotel Indigo experience especially after Bali.
Great hotel with an excellent location, stayed for three nights and all hotel staff were friendly and professional. Rooms are large with good amenities. The hotel is situated within a five minute walk to the gas lamp quarter and a ten minute walk to the conference centre. An Uber is a $15 fare from airport .
Stayed here based on reviews. Didn't find it to be great in anyway. Valet was really the only good service we had. Check in had 3 people staring at computers, not another person to be seen. No one looked up, no one said a word. I had to announce I was checking in to get someone to acknowledge me. She said, "3 nights", I said, "No, just 2". She didn't respond. I asked, "Does it state 3?" She grumbled.."no". And that was it for our conversation. Nothing on the restaurant options in the hotel, nothing at all.
Room was clean-ish. Chair by bed was so stained I wouldn't even set my purse on it. Bathroom was disgusting. The grime around the counter was caked on. A think yellow chunky coating. Used a towel on the shower floor instead of standing in it. (No, wasn't just the typical stains, hosed off when I aimed water). The hand held was broken. The 'free' Aveeda lotion was less then half full, obvioulsy had been used as there was lotion on the outside of the bottle.
AC barely cooled the room. We slept with the window cracked open.
Valet kid was friendly and helpful, and breakfast service was friendly and fast.
I guess if you wanted to see a game and didn't care about the rest it would be fine.
My husband and I were treated so well by the staff at Hotel Indigo. We left our 3 kids for a first “mini getaway” in 3 years and now I can’t wait to bring my kids back to SD just to stay at this hotel again. We absolutely loved everything about it. Stayed on the 12th floor and had views of the stadium, waterfront, downtown. Great soaker tub and separate shower, beds were comfortable. Hector was wonderful at front desk and so was everyone else along with the bartenders :)
Stayed here in November 2018 for 2 nights. New hotel that's very nice, rooms are excellent, but being in the gaslamp the guests in the surrounding rooms were very rowdy and played loud music at all hours. Also, the sound proofing to outside noise isn't the greatest. Trash collection sounded like it was in my room. Wouldn't stay here again unless I specifically wanted to take advantage of nightlife in the hotel and the gaslamp quarter.
