How to Get There
We were there for a week and just got back (family of 3 with a 4 year old daughter). We picked this hotel because the room pictures seemed nice and modern’ish and the pool looked great. However, our actual experience there was very different.
I’ll start with the positives:
1) Location is nice. Close to SeaWorld, walking distance to the beach
2) Friendly staff
3) Comfortable beds
That’s about it! Let’s do the negatives now.
1) Pool was DISGUSTING!! The water was dirty. I only lasted in it for 5 minutes. My daughter played a few minutes in the tiny tiny kids pool and that’s it. We never stepped foot in that pool again. I can’t believe how dirty it was!! I mean the water in Legoland WaterPark was much cleaner than this! So if you are going there to relax by the pool, go ahead but don’t go in it!!! This was the most disappointing part of this trip!
2) Parking was $40 a night!!!I rented an SUV for $28/day and was parking in a $40/night parking! Come on!!!!
3) Restaurant was so so
4) Rooms was nothing like the pics! The shower was very low pressure. Water in the sink and the tub took a while to go down. No power or USB plug near the beds (come on! It’s 2018!!!) The only good thing about the room was the comfortable bed.
Given the disgusting pool and so so rooms, I will probably never go back.
Let me start by saying this is the most beautiful property, location, landscaping, friendly environment. We spent a lot of time at the pool that was packed with kids, our kids throughly enjoyed the movie at the pool.
It was a real bummer finding rodent waste in our room and the strong smell of mold upon entering the room.
Beds were full size and did not fit the queen size headboards, the bed linens were old and dingy.
The bathroom sink was not cleaned when we arrived.
The whole room had a grunge factor....ewww
All of the lights were dim...big hint they don’t want you to see what it’s really like DIRTY!
It’s a shame!
There a parking fee of $40 per night plus a $32 dollar per night resort fee, also the cost of a drink in the bar is $12 for a glass of wine, the average cost of a meal is $30, $24 plus tax for a burger.
In the shop the water is $5.40 for a small bottle.
The pool is like a scene from diary of a wimpy kid, probably 80 kids in a pool for 25! And it’s capacity is 204!
The cover beds on the side of the pool are $115 per day!
I would not mind if it was a first class resort but this is nothing like that, they are ripping off hard working families.
Quite disappointed with the hotel - we stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Anaheim before this one and that was so much nicer.
Balcony door lock was hanging off, rooms dated and chipped paintwork and chunks out of woodwork. Fridge located in wardrobe (but was still noisy!). No USB charge points. Water bottles in room were $5.50 each (please stop ripping people off like this!).
Poor wifi throughout hotel. Limited seating when you bought your coffee and pastries from the cafe. Loud music in foyer and restaurant (breakfast and dinner). Biggest annoyance was $40/night for parking.
Pool was ok (kids liked it) but the sun loungers were crammed in, they literally were side by side, I could not walk between them, too overcrowded with furniture.
Nice evening S'mores treat on the lagoon beach when we were there, so that was a nice touch. Just not enough good things to make me want to return.
Overall hotel was shabby and in need of renovation.
Hotel is fine once you are inside the local surrounds are a bit rough. The front looks onto the freeway and the rear has a view of homeless people sorting their recycling. Fairly close to main attractions 3 to 4 miles to zoo. Rooms were fine and clean the food in the hotel was good.
