How to Get There
If you want to get away from it all, this is the place. Conveniently located next to a nature preserve and walking trails, this hotel is clean and friendly - perfect for a conference. The Golf Course and shop are well kept and inviting. Restaurants in the area are sparse. Eat at the hotel or you'll need a car. Fear not, however. Starbucks in the lobby!
Travelling can never be perfect there will always be little bumps or imperfections in your travel road. However when staying at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines the staff ensure that those little issues are resolved immediately. I enjoyed my stay of 9 days at this property and the staff are excellent. The Concierge, Bell desk, front desk staff, managers and housekeeping staff were so attentive and helpful that it made my stay as close to perfection as is possible.
To be as transparent as possible the decor in the rooms has a weird old vibe that makes it seem outdated but I actually think the furniture is new. The bed was comfortable and clean. the view from my balcony overlooked the pool, golfcourse and a partial view of the ocean. They did a great job of keeping the guests off the patio after 1100 pm and I was never once kept awake.
Words of Caution
If you stay at this location have a car or be prepared to use Uber or Cabs as there is really nothing close by other than the golf course and the torrey pines lodge. However this location if you have a car is perfect. Far enough outside of San Diego that you feel like your in the country but close enough to downtown as to make an easy trip for dinner and drinks. You are also close to some of the most breathtaking scenery and little towns I have ever seen. Make sure to visit Torry Pines Village Beach, Del Mar, Oceanside and every where in between.

I was Blessed a couple weeks ago to stay at the Hilton Resort Legendary Torrey Pines Go;f Course, and it was experience I will never forget! I was therfe on a business trip doing an event in one of their spacious ballrooms,and it turned out to be an incredible stay, as well as event!! The reason for my Review title: Taylor Made Visit, had nothing to do with golf! I was greeted at the front desk of the hotel, by an amazing young professional, who"s name was Taylor L"Esperance, and she set the tone for my incredible stay! I have never felt so welcomed and cared for as I did by this incredible individual, who wnet over and above her job description to insure that my stay would be a memorable one! From her kind greeting, and heart warming smile, I felt as though I was the most important guest in the Resort. Her professionalism I am assuming was a result of her passion for her career, and her desire to be the best of the best in the hospitality industry! My entire team was treated like they were hotel VIP"s, and I just want to personally thank her for genuinely making us all feel special! If I was the GM of this property I would not only award her with a bonus, I would also promote her to a higher position so that she could train others to rise to the level of professionalism she exhibits! You as a company should feel Blessed to have her on your team! I would also like to give major praise to Sherry and her sales and catering team for the amazing treatment and care they gave to make our event a special one! I would definitely hope that my company will be booking another event there in the near future, so that I can feel special again, and enjoy the attention and care your team gives that really makes for a memorable stay!! My Wife and I were visiting for business and we had a wonderful time. The staff was very warm and knowledgeable. The banquet and event staff were also top notch. After a full day we retired to our room and had one of the best nights sleep in along time.
Pool and hot tub facilities were good and had great ocean view. Breakfast buffet had a good selection. Rooms were out dated and needs a refresh. Service was Poor. Front staff was not very helpful in providing any information and directed all questions to the Concierge who were never there. Wait staff at breakfast would clear any dishes unless asked, despite the plates being stacked. The cook at the omelette station was too busy to man the station and said he had other prep duties to do other than cook omelette. My overall impression was that Guests are not the main focus or concern. Would we stay here again? We'd be open to it but for the following week after our cruise we stayed at another hotel.
