Hotel staff very nice. Hotel is remodeled. The hotel nickel and dimeing not cool. $25 for parking ... $3 for supermarket bottle water... you have to pay for WiFi. The ice machine on our floor not working... we arrive and our room wasn’t reserved after i was told a king size with balcony was being held ... was switched to another room but didn’t have a king it had 2 queens and i didn’t want to sleep separate from my wife. Had our room changed again and the ac wasn’t working properly... you have to be kidding me!

Oooo yea I wasn’t told over the phone they’re charging $50 for accidentals

Paid $200.... but I guess you get what you pay for.

Never coming back 👍🏻

The hotel itself was fine, clean, convenient, & with good service. Our room’s layout was bizarre. We think it was an attenuated a handicapped room with a large bathroom,but the sink was outside. The bathroom in this room had no storage & a wheelchair could never have accessed the closet or sink. Please rethink this room. Even the night manager was shocked. Food was good.

I am a fan of Hilton but for the money we spent at this particular hotel, was wasted. We could have stayed in comparable hotels in the same area for much less. I know, because we have. On this trip I thought I'd do a little something special but that fell flat. On the bright side the check in service was friendly and efficient. The check out service, not so much. The room was ok, nothing special but my sheets felt really damp. However, they did call to check on my room satisfaction which I thought was great and I shared my thoughts on the sheet with them but nothing further came of it. We go to San Diego often, we just wont be staying at this particular hotel again.

I stay at Hilton properties across California for work. This time I decided to try the Double Tree as I have had good experiences in the past.

I wouldnt classify the experience as bad but its definitely not good either.

1st the AC in room 116 is bad.....the room was humid and didnt feel comfortable at all.

2nd the parking is ridiculous. The parking structure is low and the turns are extremely tight. You can see many areas where cars have hit the wall or the poles.

3rd you can hear everything. From kids screaming down the hall to people rolling their luggage down the walk way. Super annoying.

Finally, not informing people about parking when making their reservations is kind of shady, especially when you charge $22 to park an a area that is dangerous to drive in.

On the plus side, the guy who checked me in was really nice and the little coffee bar outside was pleasant.

Old, tired, noisy hotel- stay at the Mission Valley DoubleTree 2 miles away- it's new and 5 star in comparison

We checked in last weekend. The hotel is old and smells damp, there is no noise insulation from your neighbors or the busy road adjacent to the property. If you are light sleeper, you will struggle to rest. The road noise was constant all night and Room Service pounded on the neighbor's door at 6.30am further sealing a terrible night's sleep.
What was inconceivable however, is how the management agreed to close the pool and hot tub from 12pm-7pm on Saturday for a private party. We arrived back to a full DJ set playing full volume hip-hop/ rap music FULL of OBSCENITIES. We sat with our 10 year old daughter listening to this for 30minutes. The front desk blamed the sales department for not vetting the group or music. How in Hilton's policies can this be acceptable? It was a disgusting display of total disregard for the guests over, I assume, the income.
The hotel refused to find us alternative rooms in sister properties, so we checked out early and moved 2 miles up the road to the brand new DoubleTree at Mission Valley- 7450 Hazard Center Drive. This hotel is very new, quiet, has a great bar/restaurant and pool and is highly recommended.
