How to Get There
This was not the hotel we had planned on checking into. I got a last-minute reservation via Booking.com about 10 minutes before my husband and I pulled up to the other hotel. They claimed to not have my reservation and further claimed to be oversold (though the parking lot was completely empty), so I hopped on to Hotwire.com and booked a room at the DoubleTree down the street. (Side note, this was a MUCH better deal than what Booking.com gave us, at a much nicer hotel.)
The area in front of the hotel was packed full of cars when we arrived to check in, which made navigating a bit tricky. The front desk agent was friendly and helpful, getting us checked in and on our way (warm cookies in hand) in record time.
Parking was $24 in the structure. The parking structure was interesting, with a lot of tight right-only turns. The elevator made way too many loud, creaking, banging sounds for my comfort, so though we parked at the top of the lot, I made my husband take the stairs. The walkway from the structure to the hotel entrance could be better lit, as well.
Our room for the night was large, comfortable and quiet. It had a sitting area with a small couch, a desk, and a tiny balcony overlooking the pool and the back side of the hotel. The bathroom wasn't overly large, but it didn't feel tight, either.
We got a good night's sleep the one night we were there, and I was able to get a lot of work done at the desk the next morning, while my husband was out. While I waited for him to come back, I opened the balcony door for fresh air, while lounging on the couch.
We liked the hotel, the location and the staff. Not sure what all the other hate is about, but we'd consider this hotel, the next time we need an inter-city get-away.
Freeway next to pool, not relaxing but bed comfortable, Wish I would’ve known the freeway was so close to the pool, and the room service needs healthier options, but the bed was super comfy, wish the tub was bigger and the showerhead was stronger, no breakfast offer.
This hotel was so expensive...from room costs to parking to a candy bar in the "store".
The lobby is beautiful and the pool/hot tub/fire pit were amazing so if you want to spend all of your time there, then this is the place for you.
Hotel Circle area is full of older hotels, some well-kept, others not so much. This one was very well-kept, and the service was excellent whenever I interacted with staff. I like the fact that there was a hook to hang a towel on next to the shower - most of the Hilton's I've stayed at recently had no place to put a towel within reach of the shower, except on the toilet. And I'm not a fan of paying tor parking, but it seems to be a standard in the area. At least the charge was semi-reasonable.
The hotel is in a good location; but the friendliness of the front desk was not good; they seemed like they really did not want to be there. Parking is expensive; no coffee available in the lobby before 6; there is a wifi charge unless you are Hilton Honors.
