Greatly disappointed with my favorite hotel in Sacramento

On my eighth stay in this hotel conveniently located near my family all manner of things reminded me this hotel is on the decline. Room service was practically non existent despite repeated daily requests to the front desk which seemed to meet deaf ears in housekeeping. By 4 pm each afternoon I was making up my own bed and tracking down towels.When someone turned up the bathroom sink was left untouched. Further, a much anticipated spa afternoon for my husband and I only contributed more disappointment. Compared to comparable hotel spas the service was second rate. We were sent to a sauna that had not been turned on that day and waited 20minutes for it to warm up. The jets were not working in the jacuzzi and though staff were aware, never told us. The relaxing room had no reclining chairs, and even had PLASTIC lawn chairs.
Brian, the manager on service our last day tried to make things right.But too many things ruined our enjoyment of this hotel. This Westin is getting shabby. Though the location is perfect for us, the high rates for such inferior service will make me reconsider any further stay.

A peaceful oasis along the river

Was surprised to find this Westin is located a ways from downtown Sacramento, along I-5, but could not have been happier to discover this quiet oasis. Smaller than most Westins (100 rooms), it is beautifully designed, offering an elegant lobby with public workspaces, spacious hallways, a spa, and a workout room. Our riverside room was very comfortable. The hotel offers free parking as well as valet parking for a fee. There is a convenient restaurant and bar across the driveway, but the quality of our dinner was uneven (suspect that holiday staffing was an issue). Excellent, friendly service throughout our stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Extremely Good Customer Service

I recently hosted a business meeting at the Westin in Sacramento. Of course, right along the river, the property is beautifully set and maintained. However, the people that the Westin hires are its greatest asset. From registration to check-out, all went smoothly and staff were ready to assist. Michaela, at the front desk, was genuinely welcoming, efficient and competent. It was a great way to begin my stay. I also drive an electric vehicle (EV) and have an expectation that hotels will offer charging to overnight guests. The Westin has a 240 and a 110 plug, which can be tricky with my type of EV. The 240 is behind a locked gate as well. The valets, Nate and Omar, were so willing to go the extra effort to assist me in ensuring that my pigtail connector fit the plug, my car was charging properly and to monitor it. Omar assisted me in problem solving through some of the charging fluctuations as well. They did all this while efficiently serving other guests. Wow! But, Westin owners, it would be even more helpful if you installed a few spots with 110s, J1772s and Tesla chargers. When I arrived, there were two Teslas, a Volt and a Leaf there. The world is changing, and it is a wonderful perk to have for overnight guests - even if we were just trickle charging overnight. It would also save your staff time and effort if I could just plug-in myself.
