How to Get There
This is a very nice hotel. When we checked in we were told that we could choose a Go Green option and save $5. All that was explained to us is that our sheets and towels would not be changed. So we hung the sign on our door and found out when we got back to the room that what it really meant was no one came in the room. That means we got no fresh coffee cups or extra coffee, no water, trash wasn’t empty. Nothing. Not worth saving five dollars!
It's really nice，we arrived at midnight, Michael Gabriel is so sweet, who made us fell like home! The room is big and bed is comfortable. Hope to be there again! Breakfast is nice with own choice! Everyone is nice!
We have been staying at this hotel for many years when we travel to see family. We do travel often and I can honestly say the customer service here is second to none. The staff are all helpful, very polite and welcoming. What a contrast from a recent stay at a Ritz Carlton property where we experienced the opposite. The rooms are beautiful and have always been clean and comfortable. We had dinner at Scott’s Seafood. The quality is consistently very good, as is the service. We also enjoyed their poolside service and breakfast room service. The eggs Benedict was the best and arrived hot. The Westin Sacramento is a favorite home away from home!
Great accommodations which is to be expected from the Westin! However, Mikaela was an added touch and simply the best - professional, yet personable. She took the necessary time with each guest making them feel special, at least, I know that I did. From the onset of checking in, she made me feel valued and appreciated for making the choice to stay at The Westin. She informed me of the amenities of the hotel including but not limited to dining services. I was a late arrival, however, she held my luggage while I went over to place an order before the restaurant closed and by the way, Tony's Seafood was delicious! During my stay, Mikaela greeted me by name, inquired of my day and room satisfaction whenever I passed the front desk. She actually noticed when my water bottle was empty and ask if she could fill it. By observation, it was evident that she was genuinely concerned with my satisfaction as well as the other guest. She not exhibit any biases. My travels take me to Sacramento at least once a quarter and this will be my hotel of choice. Mikaela Matthews played an integral role in my decision because of her attention to detail and overall kind and gentle demeanor! Thank you Mikaela! I wish you continued success!
I visit Sacramento annually for work and usually stay downtown. The downtown hotels are louder and I don’t feel safe walking around alone in the evenings. I gave this Westin a try and will always stay here going forward.
The Westin isn’t close to much (can’t walk to restaurants, convenience stores, etc.) but the riverfront location, very nice rooms, pool and gym more than made up for shopping conveniences.
I enjoyed waking the paved path along the river in the warm evenings, which intersects with the hotel. Between meetings I would sit by the pool and swim briefly which made the trip seem almost like vacation. Most times no one was there. I had the gym to myself all 4 days. It has cardio equipment, dumbbells, TRX, bosu ball, yoga mats, a weight bench, filtered water, music, free headphones, and chilled towels. It looks over out at the pool and you can exit the property from the gym.
The rooms and bathrooms are very large. The bathroom has a separate shower and bathtub. Water pressure was good. Air conditioner was very powerful. I loved the breakfast service where you get a menu card and select your breakfast choices. You hang the card outside your door by midnight and it gets delivered at your specified time. Breakfast ranges from about $8.50-$20. They offer night time snacks like crackers and peanut butter or yogurt parfait.
The building is 3 floors with one slow elevator. This never became a problem surprisingly. Even numbered rooms view the water. Not all water view locations are created equal. The garden view is more of a parking lot with trees view. The water view would be worth $40/night to me. Rooms ending 0-25 are quieter. The other end is close to the freeway.
Overall, the Westin Sacramento was a pleasant experience and I would both recommend to friends and stay again.
