Nice spot

Was staying here while my daughter was at a Stanford volleyball camp. The hotel is nothing special or extravagant, but good location and nice place. Restaurant had some good food. Pool is tiny... would not be a place I'd recommend for a nice vacation, but good basic home base for palo alto trip

Comfortable with Limits

We had stayed at this hotel a couple of times over the last year and liked it because of its walking accessibility to Stanford Univeraity and downtown. We also liked the small boutique feel. Unfortunately, it’s time for a facelift for this hotel, and the front staff could be more responsive and helpful. The carpet in our fourth floor room (420) was downright filthy, the bathroom smelled of body odor, and it was very noisy. When we complained, there was no apology. We also had to wait a long time for our car, and got the impression the bellman and front desk employees were more interested in talking to each other than helping us. The redeeming factors were the excellent breakfast and unparalleled service provided by Alberto, one of the long-time servers, and the restaurant manager. Due to his leadership, food and beverage at the hotel were a delight.

A visit to Stanford

choose the rooms on the same floor as the lobby and you will be lucky enough to have access directly from the room onto the nice terrace. The menu choice of the restaurant is limited, the hamburg better than the Californian paella. Friendly and professional staff.
