Dinah's is a Garden Hotel

A hotel with large rooms while also having two Queen beds gave us plenty room to spread out. This hotel is a luxury motel built with several buildings which provide spacious rooms, but all are connected both at ground and second level with elevators at the building connections and ample access to parking. We liked the small ponds around and separating buildings providing a very tropical scene with many Koi in ponds providing an inviting space to watch their activity. Front desk and lobby with snacks & coffee separate from the rooms. We initially stayed in a single room but when our adult kids arrived stayed in one of their two two room suites with kitchens (full) and living room large enough for our other friends to congregate after the wedding.

Pleasant Overnight Visit

The room was spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom had a great shower. Although the room looked out onto the pool area, it was still pretty quiet.
So for a quick overnight visit, this hotel was very pleasant.

Character and Comfort; Jolly good

We came back this July to Dinah's for a family wedding and I'm pleased to report being pleased once again. See my prior review Oct. 12 2014 for positive first stay. It's a nicely comfortable property and well-maintained. Restaurant is good and large pool also well-maintained. This time we stayed in a pricier room which allowed us to go in and out of a back door of the small suite through a sort of secret garden gate into the pool area, where our large extended family tended to gather. No noise problem at all. Jolly good.

"Garden Hotel" says the name, and garden hotel it is! Really quite lovely, and absolutely up to date, although something about it, may be the landscaping and maybe the way the low buildings are arrayed in configurations of one story and two...reminds me of the old-time motels that are family owned and comforts may be found, but probably not. Well, not this place--it's really comfortable. The rooms are solid, quiet, clean, and clean-lined: totally contemporary. Staff from desk clerks (yes, there always seemed to be two on duty when you'd expect one) to the housekeeping staff were present, unassuming, and helpful. So one concludes this is a well-managed place. It all reflects the continuing vision of the original owner, a world-traveler when such travel was truly exotic, whose story one of the receptionists told me on inquiry. In the heart of silicon valley, the hotel is fully "wired" in rooms and lobby (two 27 inch iMacs for guests).

By the way, the hotel restaurant (not the fancy "The Sea" associated with the property, which I didn't try) is notably fine for breakfast and lunch (all I tried). And the pool is nice sized, well-maintained, and it was a pleasant 83 degrees F.

Laid back and serene but overpriced

Comfortable rooms and serene and calming views. Cleanliness is decent inside room. Alleys can be a turn off with garbage smells. However, there is nothing flashy about it and outside the room can feel like a motel. Overpriced for what it has to offer.

Silicon Valley retreat

Great value. Great grounds. 50s chic. A relaxing break from Silicon Valley chaos. You want something different from the over priced and overrated hotels in this area, this is the place. It's a little gem.
