Bed and Bath
The 91 rooms and mini suites have a cozy compact feel. Look carefully for all the little upgrades and amenities: games and puzzles like an Etch-a-Sketch and Rubik’s cube in the ergonomic work desk; iPod docking stations by the beds; Egyptian cotton linens and plush bathrobes; and rain showerheads and luxurious Lather bath and body products in the bathrooms.
Start every morning with a free hot-and-cold breakfast buffet, where you can also grab some items to take on the go. Open from April through November, the seasonal outdoor pool and hot tub are rarely crowded, meaning a lounge chair is usually waiting just for you. Or get your exercise by working out in the small, but well-equipped fitness center.
In the Area
Hotel Avante sits right along El Camino Real, the main artery through Mountain View, a Silicon Valley hub that rubs shoulders with Palo Alto and Sunnyvale. Nearby high-tech company campuses include heavy hitters such as Google, Intuit and Symantec. About 1.5 miles away – a quick drive or bus ride – downtown Mountain View‘s pedestrian-friendly Castro Street is chock-a-block with bars, restaurants and shops. For entertainment, check what rock bands are playing outdoor concerts at the Shoreline Amphitheatre. Since Mountain View is located at the south end of San Francisco Bay, it’s only a 20-minute drive from downtown San Jose or about 45 minutes from the city of San Francisco, for more urban exploring.
How to Get There
The lady preparing the breakfast during the week days was very kind and made sure that the guests have all they need for breakfast. Nathan was very kind and ensured that guests enjoy the wine and cheese spread during happy hours.
Great location and clean. Staff was amazing. The pool and hot tub were clean and inviting if only it was not raining. The rooms were comfortable especially the bed. I would stay there again and looking forward to it.
We come here every year to celebrate with family and friends for our annual Mardi Gras party in town. The staff is always friendly and willing to attend to our needs. I love the addition of Mimosas! VG
I had an amazing time. The front desk staff, especially Steven, exceeded my expectations with their customized customer service. I also appreciated the housekeeping services Lupe provided. Another memorable experience was the evening reception. So thoughtful.
Room was a bit small, had no microwave inside and the pillows were way to stiff to use. Customer service was great, provided a full hot breakfast, free parking and 24hr lobby coffee & water.
FYI....caref if you go with little ones because the hotel commodities like sodas and candy are in reach with a nice price to add to your room fee
