Nice for “decompressing”!

This summer was a bit unusual for us: we weren’t able to travel, because I had serious medical treatment that took two summer months, and also my husband and I couldn’t leave our family business, but we needed to “restart our batteries” so much!! We have decided not to go too far from Los Angeles where we live, and go to some nearby location, that would give us a sense of escape, and to our kid - a little treat before the school starts, and at the same time so that we wouldn’t be far from our business in case if something urgent requires either of us to be back for some time. For all of the above reasons, we really needed the whole hotel environment to help us to COMPLETELY relax and feel as if we were traveling somewhere. This particular hotel gave us that. Thank you, guys, for making our stay unforgettable. Also, the immediate location is not maybe super ideal (I mean, it’s not far from busy traffic, or at the ocean, or somewhere in a park), but overall it is a great location - although there are a lot of food chains options and Trader Joe’s nearby, but if you want to go sightseeing or hiking, there are tons of options in the area. We visited beautiful Botanical Gardens nearby, and beautiful and cozy Downtown Pasadena, but mostly we were just enjoying our room and the hotel itself. The swimming pool is very nice, the water is a very good temperature. It is a smaller swimming pool, but for us it was enough, and we all loooved the cabanas near the pool, with individual fans in each one, and light (so I could read even in the evening there). Here is also a hot tub, and we were also enjoying ordering morning coffee right to our cabana. We used room service a lot, and were never disappointed. Sleep was great. I never slept that well. You don’t hear any noises, the beds are super comfortable. We will be back, for sure. I loved it there.

Home away from home

Great location and price for visiting family in the Pasadena area. Great breakfast, and externally friendly staff. We've stayed here at least 15 times over the past 4 years, and the staff remembers us, and are very caring.

Agents checked someone else in to our room

If you want a stranger to open your and not being safe to stay in your room. Stay here. Hotel staffs didn't care about it and didn’t even apologize.

Here is the situation...After we checked in, another group of guests use their key and opened our room when we are inside and one of my friends was in the bathroom. We were shocked. We were lucky that those guests were not someone harmful. We called the front desk right the way and the first response we got was the agent asked us what can they do. This is such a big security problem and what they offered us was only 15% off the bill and didn’t even apologize for the situation. We are group of girls traveling and thought of staying in the room was not safe anymore so we decided to went down and we need to asked them in order for them to change our room. And they finally apologized for the mistake and offered us comp breakfast. We didn’t want to ruin our mood and tried to keep it small so just let it go. When we checked out, the 15% was not apply to our bill. They asked me to wait for them to called the agent who made the offer in order to get back to me. That’s the moment I realize they didn’t take it seriously and the issue was not reported. They didn’t discover how the mistake was made and didn’t care about it. What if we were not in the room, our valuable items can be stolen. One of my friends was in the bathroom, what if she just came out naked? The hotel is lucky that none of these was happened or it was such a huge general liability issue. And we didn’t deserve an apology from the management? How respectful is the hotel to the guests. Except that situation, everything else was fine. But I hope the hotel can value their guests a little more if they want the guests to come back.
