How to Get There
This is a reasonably priced, reasonably comfortable hotel. But as indicated in my title: not in San Jose and not very close to SJC.
You may think that San Jose is boring, but trust me: Milpitas is far worse. The only reason to stay here would be for business in the tech area of north San Jose, or if you can’t afford anything closer to either SJ or Silicon Valley.
I had my 60th birthday party at the Sheraton Hotel last weekend. The customer service was excellent from the beginning to the end. Geraldo Lopez, Catering Sales Manager assisted me with planning my party and kept on top of everything. He did an excellent job! The staff at check-in were very nice and helpful. The banquet staff was also very helpful. The bartender (Geraldo) also did a great job. Sheraton, thanks so much for the great service.
Great beds, clean, and front desk staff was amazing. Starbucks in the room. However, what happened to the bistro? It’s so outdated and ugly. And the service was non existent. We had no hospitality and asked 3 times for water then only got 1. Plus getting the check took another 30 minutes. Really disappointing for a Sheraton product.
Excellent hotel for an overnight connection. The courtesy driver was amazing. So nice and helpful....as was the front desk staff. If I connect again in SJ....this is my place! Beds were comfortable and there's a restaurant right outside the front door.....that closes about 10pm.
The last time I stayed at a Sheraton I was very impressed. This time, at the Sheraton San Jose, not so much. Nothing awful, just average, nothing terribly impressive: at a higher than average price (though maybe not for Silicon Valley).
Check-in was a bit awkward, with the staff seeming not to be fully engaged and not fully explaining my benefits as a Gold member. Some of that may be due to Sheraton's computer system not fully tracking recent changes in status.
My room was clean, roomy and attractive. No complaints at all there. There was some noticeable noise from the nearby 880 freeway, even though my room was on the side furthest from that freeway.
When I compare Sheraton hotels with the chain I usually stay at it is quite noticeable that Sheraton, even with "status", tends to charge for incidentals more often, particularly for breakfast.
This stay was not enough to entice me away from my usual chain: not bad, just average.
