How to Get There
Nicest property in Mammoth. Front desk, management, and valet staff are the best. Management was always available and did a great job. Rooms are very nice. Only downside is the restaurant that is franchised and run by a different company. The good news is that there are plenty of options outside of the hotel.
Spent a ski weekend here. Great location, nice interior, and comfortable. Kids slept on sofa bed. They like the heated pool also.
Somewhat convenient to the gondola - if it weren't for the 100+ steps that you have to traverse. I highly recommend adding a bridge from the property to the gondola platform!!!! Please!!
On property dining was very good for lunch. And hotel is close to village area to go out for dinner.
Stayed for a week to ski Mammoth. Hotel is new and up to snuff. Restaurant is fine, with decent service. Location is not ideal for easy skiing. Must walk down 74 steps to get to Village Gondola. There is a ski valet at the gondola, so you don't need to carry skis or boots. The walk back up at the end of the day is not fun. Also need to walk the steps if you want to go to Village for dining or shopping. Definitely not good for young children. Many crying kids on the steps.
Loved are stay here. 7' of snow in four days definitely helped. Great location. Very convenient. Stored skis and boots in the ski valet under the gondola. Comfortable beds. The restaurant in the lobby needs a new menu. We went for Happy Hour and had a hard time finding something to eat. The hot tub was big and fun. Are room faced the town center area. They remove snow with two huge front end loaders that have very loud back up warning systems. They started snow removal in this area around 4 am. We both had ear plugs so we could block out the noise. If we didn't we would have been up at 4 am on snow removal days. I don't think this was the hotels fault.
Otherwise it was a great stay and we will return to Mammoth Mt for skiing.
The location cannot be beaten as it is in the Mammoth Village within several hundred feet from the Village Gondola. However, the only downside is the series of steps you need to hike up/down to get to/from the gondola to the hotel. I suspect with little kids, it may be a bit of a hassle but nothing too bad. The views from the hotel are awesome and the room we stayed in was just jaw-dropping. Westin is our family's favorite brand of hotel especially when it comes to winter ski destinations. Our most favorite being the one in Whistler but this isn't too far off.
We booked the one bedroom junior suite but was recognized for our platinum elite status and upgraded to the two-bedroom. The suite was huge with two beds, two baths, a living room, a full kitchen and two balconies on the top floor of the hotel overlooking the village and the gondola. The living room had a sofa bed so you could easily house six people comfortably. In college, we could have fit no less than 15 people sleeping in this place.
The front desk is always polite upon greeting and accommodated us from the first day to the last day.
The concierge team is impeccable, in that there is nothing you could ask that they can't deliver. As platinum elite we got two breakfasts each morning (which was in the restaurant downstairs that had a great staff and the food was good) and it included two drinks and two entrees. Also the downstair level has a sport shopt that can rent equipment and print out all lift tickets, ski school vouchers and take care of returns/refunds.
In addition, the hotel has three levels of underground parking which was a lifesaver during our "storm of the year- 2019 - superbowl weekend."
The outdoor pool/hot tubs are great and quite big but during a busy weekend, it could fill up quickly.
I loved our family's stay and we will definitely be back this season to enjoy them again! Thank you!
