How to Get There
I had to move rooms after the first night because the room I was given (314) had a loud air con unit outside which made the room constantly sound like I was in a plane! The first receptionist I asked if I could move told me the hotel was fully booked all week but would have the manager call me. I didn't get a call all day so checked again in the evening and a different receptionist told me they had lots of empty rooms and changed me to a room on the floor below, much better. The second night I would have slept better but from 11PM for 45 minutes employees were dragging the wheelie bins from the storage area outside my room to I guess the place they empty them! Not impressed! This surely disturbed all guests around the area. The third night, just gone 9, an employee starts using power tools right outside the rear of the hotel, I'm in a rear facing room, along with lots of other guests! Whilst it's not late, when you have jetlag, have been awake since 4 and in meetings all day, you just want sleep! There was also an issue with my payment, in that my company booked and paid for my accommodation, however the hotel also requested my credit card upon arrival, which I thought was for incidentals and security, but they deducted the cost of my room for the 6 night stay, they did this to 3 of my colleagues also and then delivered awful customer service when we wanted this resolved. It took 3 days to sort and left 2 of the s unable to use our credit cards for the duration as we weren't expecting the expense! The rooms are over priced and breakfast isn't even included. But they do have great showers! The bedrooms are dated sadly and could do with a refresh, but the rooms are clean. I wouldn't recommend the hotel sadly.
We stayed at the Toll House Hotel in downtown Los Gatos for a New Years Eve staycation. I called prior to check-in to request a room with a balcony, which I received upon check-in along with an upgrade to a Deluxe King room from a Delixe Queen room. The hotel staff was very kind and friendly, and gave complimentary welcome gifts for New Years that included a bottle of white wine, snacks, waters for the room and a $10 voucher for the restaurant/bar/room service. Our room was nice, clean, and quiet. I was able to request a late check-out, and applied my voucher to room service in the morning for breakfast in bed. I would highly recommend this hotel and can't wait to stay again!
I always stay at this hotel when I am in the area. The staff is very friendly and helpful. In particular, Marjan at the front desk always greats me with a smile and goes out of her way to make me feel welcome. Yvette, one of the bartenders, is as awesome as Marjan. She is very friendly and makes some fantastic cocktails...delicious!
The rooms are spacious, well appointed and always very clean.
I travel a lot of work, approximately 125 nights a year, and this is my favorite hotel. I always look forward to staying at the Toll House because of the service, great rooms and above all, the excellent service I receive
Visited here on business for 2 nights. Hotel is ok, the lobby area is nice, staff are friendly and the hotel is kept clean throughout. Given the amenities it offers however and the look it tries to give off through its website and marketing it is a pretty mediocre experience to stay here. The rooms are very plain, the bathrooms very old with a rather impractical shower over shallow bath, and tired and uncomfortable beds and furniture, the rooms are freezing cold but the heating / air con system is extremely loud.
I had a room at the front of the property and the traffic and people walking outside were quite noisy, not through any fault of their own, there just seems to be no sound proofing anywhere, the walls are paper thin as well so you hear everything from
Neighbours and people in the hallways.
The food was fantastic, really great meals for breakfast and dinner but the service is so incredibly slow, there seems to be no staff to serve customers!
Overall the stay was ok. And the location is great for exploring Los Gatos which is a lovely town. But my stay was let down by a few things, which given the price of this hotel per night, very disappointing
Such kindness and generosity abounds at the Toll House.
Marjan checked us in and made accommodations to make our stay comfortable. She was very attentive, and though busy, she still gave us time and we all got to know each other a bit. Marjan was the ideal person to welcome us...a perfect start to our stay here. We looked forward to seeing her each time we went to the front desk. A beautiful and kind human being.
After we checked in and got settled, Doug at the front desk was attentive to us. We didn't ask or expect this level of paying attention and treatment. Thank you Doug!!! You made a special weekend even more memorable. You made sure we were comfortable as we relaxed and sat in the chairs in the lobby. We will not forget you. And thank you for the cookies!
Yvette the bartender was welcoming and patient and friendly. She made delicious and unique drinks. I had her signature mai tai, called the Yvette Ty Ty. It is now my favorite cocktail. My best friend had the Bloody Mary with BACON. Wonderful!
We will sure return for our next BFF weekend. We came here 20 years ago, as our friendship began...and now, 20 years later, this reunion at the Toll House is even more precious and memorable. We'll certainly return sooner, Doug, Marjan, and Yvette!!
Blessings and peace to all of you, your family, friends and colleagues. What a team you have here. We're glad to be part of your community.
