Great Location, Atmosphere, Hotel, & Service
Reviewed 3 days ago

I had a short but great stay at this hotel. We were there celebrating my husband's birthday and W Insider Barbara made sure our stay was amazing! From the welcome treats in our room, wishing my husband a Happy Birthday to the complimentary poolside cabana, it was an amazing time indeed and a great way to kick off his birthday trip! My husband and I consistently choose W hotels over others specifically for the W Insiders and how they go above and beyond to ensure our stay was amazing. We also enjoyed the lively bar area as it gave us a fun place to hang out without having to leave the hotel! Thanks or continuing to make our experiences at W Hotels great!

Conveniently located chic hotel that could use better service and housekeeping
Reviewed 5 days ago

This W lives up to the chain's reputation for chic hotels. Pulling up, the entrance was trendy with its watery light up steps. The valet staff are friendly and constantly hand out water bottles which is a plus. The rest of the staff were mostly friendly but the service was wanting and my room was dirty and in need of some new furniture.

Parking: You can't park on the streets in Beverly Hills without a permit so valet parking is a must. There is a garage a few blocks away but its rather inconvenient. Parking is $46 a night. Valets hand out water bottles in summer so that's a nice touch. They are also friendly and quick with directions to wherever you are going.

Check in: As an SPG gold member, I expected better service. Although we arrived at 2pm after paying for early check in via an email marketing campaign sent straight from the chain, the room was still not ready. We waited about two hours before the room was ready. Upon going back to the hotel to check in, the line was long and no one as at the SPG member counter. We had to wait another 10-15 minutes before someone appeared. We weren't provided with any of our member benefits and we had to ask for literally everything.

Room: The rooms are cool looking with a large couch and chaise with a desk to do work on. A bit on the smaller side. The bathroom is small and the previous guest's hairs were all over the wall and sink. Ick! The turquoise coffee table in the room looked like it was beaten against the other furniture and covered in black marks. The time on the clock in the room was 12 hours behind and upside down. Aside from the decor, there wasn't anything great about our room. The rooms do come with refrigerators but they are stocked with beverages you must pay for.

STK: I would love to give a review of STK but was not given the opportunity to dine there. We made reservations for 7pm the night we arrived only to find the restaurant was closed for the night! We were not given prior notice upon check in or when we made the reservation. There wasn't even a sign on the door. We walked in and the staff inside said it w as closed for the night. So we had to make last minute dinner plans elsewhere.

Pool: The pool is on the smaller side but comes with cabanas and a nice bar and DJ at night. Drinks are average price for the are and bar staff are friendly. Seats fill up fast so its necessary to get there a bit earlier on a busy night.

Lounge area: The lounge area is immaculate but typically empty. It would make a great place to meet other guests and mingle but many people favor the outside bar vs the indoor one in the summer.

Dogs: The hotel is dog friendly but its a master as to where to take the dog out. We were given a location by hotel staff only to be scolded later by a manager we could not take our dog to the location the rest of the staff had given us. There isn't a lot of lawn in the area so owners with larger dogs should beware. They do give out treats but you need to ask for them. Dog walking services are available upon request.

I wanted to like this place, however, due to the poor service I cannot give it a higher rating. The premises are in a great location and tastefully decorated but is lacking in service areas that I would expect for a hotel in this price range.

Great location and hotel

Nice restaurant and rooms. The pool could be larger. Very north as far as LA goes so it’s a great mid point to Nor Cal to San Diego. The ambience is hip and they are accommodating to any request. Nice neighborhood and close to UCLA

Poor Service

We stayed here as a family when visiting LA. The nightly party scene in the lobby area is definitely not for those traveling with families and children. The furnace in our room was making a funny sound all night. We barely got any sleep and when we tried to address it with the management the next day, we were told three different times that "someone would get back to us" and no one did. Definitely not going back and do not recommend this place.

Girls Trip
Reviewed 6 days ago

We stayed at this property May 31- June 4 for a much needed girls(moms) getaway. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The Insiders were especially helpful in recommending fun spots for us to enjoy. Our room was spectacular and loved the lobby photo booth idea. Brilliant! An extra shout out to the pool bartender(pony tail and blue eyes) for making us extra delicious cocojitos. Thanks to everyone for making our trip so memorable. I hope to come back again soon.
