How to Get There
I have nothing but praises for the W Hollywood. Upon check-in, Morgan was very friendly and accommodating. She assigned me to a fabulous room and didn’t get annoyed by all of my requests. The spa was wonderful and I wasn’t feeling too well so you all bought me tea and cough drops from Trader Joe’s! Didn’t even charge me! I had to sing the next day so it was super helpful! I needed roses for my act and someone went out and bought them for me. I have nothing but praises for the W team and my stay. Morgan was especially awesome! Thank you and I will be staying again!
Came here for a quick business meeting, since it was my first time in Hollywood opted for this hotel since it’s close to most of the attraction. Not a bad choice over all. There are many great dining option, theater is a bloc away, and there is a Trader Joe’s near by in case if you are traveling with kids which can be convenient. The main entrance is not Hollywood Blvd but the side street. However, there is a front and back entrance to the building, the main entrance is where the car valet parking is and the rear entrance can be entered from the Trader Joe’s side.(see picture) the hotel looks little outdated compare to other w hotels I have been too, but it didn’t bother me since I was there for just one night. The room has nice window seating which is something my wife would like.
This hotel had real elegance about it, everything felt so classy and sophisticated. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We went to LA for the boxing fight that was held at the staples center, and our hotel has the metro line just below, each journey is 1.75$, it made life easier as the metro was just below and getting to places was so easy, Universal Studio was 2 stops away, downtown was 4 stops away. You have the Arclight cinema one block away, you have Starbucks next door, you have the wicked theatre opposite, the are plenty of places to eat near by, one of my favourite was the 800 degrees pizza restaurant, it was so good and nice which is just 1 block away, you also have Walgreens 1 block away. If you wanna go up Hollywood sign, that was near by as too was the Griffith observatory. This hotel has a nice bar down near by the lobby, the rooftop pool was a fancy little area, with heated pool. I can only imagine this pool being real busy during summer period, and it would also be nice relaxing by the pool bar at night during summer nights. All in all, the staff were super and even the security were super also. I’ve got to give a special shout out to Jae at the front desk as he was very helpful and Jackson who works for the security team, he always had time to come by and say hello to me and my friend and making sure everything was ok for us. Highly recommend and I’ve found my spot to stay at when I come back next time.
Picked this hotel since it looked nice and was directly on Hollywood Blvd. It is also right next to a Metro stop if you want to reduce walking and ride it to the Metro stop next to the Chinese Theater. Room was fun. Very artsy hotel. A low bed to the floor. Very good breakfast. The roof pool area closes at 7 pm (what?) so no evening lounging there reading a book while sipping an adult beverage. Recommend Frank and Musso’s restaurant on Hollywood Blvd.
if you like bed bugs that is the place Being a platinum premier elite member of Starwood, I stay at Starwood hotels including W, around 100 nights a year plus more at other brands. I am speechless how disgusting this hotel is and how they treat their guest, EVERY front desk person thinks because they work at the W, they are GOD and talk down to guests... this comes from Management... I assume the manager is acting the same and he is blind to see all the staff are following his footsteps ... no wonder no one wants to stay at the hotel.... the rate they are offering is close to a motel around there, the way they are going, probably will be cheaper soon than a local motel.... if you don't mind being disrespected by staff starting the valet....and check in to a cheap room with broken and missing furniture , that's your hotel, but if you respect yourself, stay away from this property.... if you decide to stay there, make sure they come and check your mini bar before you leave, otherwise they will surprise you later with a bill much more than the cost of your room.
