Loews Hollywood is part of the Hollywood & Highland Center, a major shopping and entertainment complex in central LA, so things are always hopping here (plus, there are more than 600 rooms to boot). The hotel was renovated in 2014 and the rooms, now fairly spacious, feature plenty of charging ports, Keurig coffeemakers, and modern furniture. This is the hotel to stay in if you’re planning to hit the famous Hollywood sights or if you’re in town for a convention (which makes this a hot destination for tourists). The property has two restaurants—a casual snack bar by the pool and an all-day dining spot for American cuisine—but its proximity to the shopping center means there are plenty of other options just steps away. The hotel’s rooftop pool is also worth visiting for the views and the comfy sun loungers. Its trump card, however, is the sheer variety of opportunities for keeping children and teens entertained in between excursions to tourist attractions, which makes it highly recommended for families.
In the Area
For anyone making their first visit to Los Angeles, Loews’ location can’t be beat. You’re just steps from Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, the Hollywood Wax Museum, and the TCL Chinese Theatre, (once famously known as the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre), as well as the Walk of Fame. Just a few miles north of the hotel is the Universal Studios theme park, as well as the fabulous art collections at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Ice Age excavation site known as the La Brea Tar Pits are close to each other and within a 20-minute drive. For explorations outside Hollywood, there’s a Red Line metro station just behind the hotel.
How to Get There
We recently visited LA for 4 nights. The first night we spent in another hotel which we ended up checking out of because it was awful.
We were delighted to have found the Loews and really enjoyed our stay here.
The lovely receptionist even upgraded our room to a suite which made our whole experience of LA a lot more delightful.
The room was huge with all the amenities you expect and a super comfortable bed.
We would certainly return.
Excellent location too and right next to the Metro, a shopping mall and walk of fame.
The hotel was very clean and modern looking. The only issue was the dresser and desk needs replacing in the room or at least painted. Housekeeping was excellent and kept the entire hotel smelling wonderful. Ps would like to know the scent used for cleaning. I would stay here again and it's very close to Hollywood walk of fame and other attractions.
We stayed here while we were attending a concert at the Hollywood bowl. It’s a little confusing to get into the hotel because it’s in downtown on the corner of a a very busy street. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. The rooms were nicely appointed and clean. Location is fantastic for walking to Hollywood Bowl or any of the nearby attractions. The view from our room was not that great but we didn’t care because we were only there to sleep. Hollywood bowl. Stayed here for 2 nights with extended family. Location is awesome, close to everything you would want to experience in Hollywood - and it is a lovely hotel with comfortable rooms and great beds. Reception staff was very friendly and helpful. Would stay again!
I won first place in a contest along with 25 others to this hotel to compete for a chance to be on the tv show Last Man Standing. This is where they put us. The best place in Hollywood!
It's connected to a mall, the mall where they put on the Oscars, where the stars stay when they're in town for an event. You can take an elevator down right to ther mall area. Our contest event was right there in the middle of the mall area .. we were the stars and celebrities for a week.
This hotel is so close to the legendary sights of Hollywood, all within walking distance. The Chinese theater, more restaurants than you can imagine. Minutes to see everything, or an uber or bus ride away to get to other sights, like the Santa Monica and Venice areas, a must see along with the beach.
The hotel itself was immaculate! The room was set up nicely, with plenty of space for the furniture. The bed was super comfy, the tv channels nice. I was on the 12th floor and had a very nice view. I engender being in this area a few years ago and, as o was walking around to see the sights, thinking how I had wished I'd stayed at the Lowes.
The hotel was nice. The food choices right there in the lobby was nice. The room was nice. Being close to the mall and shops was nice.
BUT nothing compares, and ur always comes down to ... the employees.
Top of the line! The employees know that how a guest is treated is most important. I had no problems, but if I did, I know they'd be right there to fix it. So kind, always asking if the was anything they could do to make my stay better. So, tops to you, the scenery, the room, the hotel, and last but not least, the employees who keep it all just like dreamland.
