Loews Hollywood is part of the Hollywood & Highland Center, a major shopping and entertainment complex in central LA, so things are always hopping here (plus, there are more than 600 rooms to boot). The hotel was renovated in 2014 and the rooms, now fairly spacious, feature plenty of charging ports, Keurig coffeemakers, and modern furniture. This is the hotel to stay in if you’re planning to hit the famous Hollywood sights or if you’re in town for a convention (which makes this a hot destination for tourists). The property has two restaurants—a casual snack bar by the pool and an all-day dining spot for American cuisine—but its proximity to the shopping center means there are plenty of other options just steps away. The hotel’s rooftop pool is also worth visiting for the views and the comfy sun loungers. Its trump card, however, is the sheer variety of opportunities for keeping children and teens entertained in between excursions to tourist attractions, which makes it highly recommended for families.
In the Area
For anyone making their first visit to Los Angeles, Loews’ location can’t be beat. You’re just steps from Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, the Hollywood Wax Museum, and the TCL Chinese Theatre, (once famously known as the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre), as well as the Walk of Fame. Just a few miles north of the hotel is the Universal Studios theme park, as well as the fabulous art collections at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Ice Age excavation site known as the La Brea Tar Pits are close to each other and within a 20-minute drive. For explorations outside Hollywood, there’s a Red Line metro station just behind the hotel.
How to Get There
Great service and the ONLY hotel to stay at in LA!! Service, location and value. They have it all!! We will be back!! If I could give them six stars they would have that. Tried the Roosevelt and not even a comparison!!!
I like staying at a Loews hotel because they consistently deliver the same quality experience. This hotel is well located to be near a number of tourist destinations in Hollywood. Given that I was a business traveler, however, the tourist traffic meant adding more time to my local commutes. I had meetings nearby, however, so it was still the best location for me. Just be sure to give yourself more time to get around.
Excellent hotel. Very clean. Close to Hollywood boulevard. Staff was helpful and courteous! Awesome views of the Hollywood sign from the room! Restaurant had good food. Would stay again if in the area.
