How to Get There
We stayed here for one night for my husband’s business function. The staff was super friendly and helpful with describing the hotel amenities. Unfortunately, since we were only here one night we didn’t have a chance to enjoy the pool or fitness room but they are available.
The room was comfortable and large with a small sofa and chair to sit on. The bed was the famous Marriott bed, so very comfortable and I took note of the pillows so that I can purchase one later. Heavenly!
There was a desk area, a larger flat screen TV and an in room coffee maker. The bathroom was large with a single sink and the toiletries smelled amazing. Your basic big brand business hotel. Room service is available but expect a large service charge which we were told did NOT cover gratuity.
This hotel seems to cater more to business people and business functions. The large ballroom was perfect for the company celebration dinner. Located in LA Live it is close to the Staples Center, the Grammy Museum and there are plenty of places to dine nearby.
I spent 3 weeks at the JW due to my husband undergoing emergency heart surgery during a convention held at the hotel. Hotel called ambulance. I arrived and stayed in the hotel until the day he could fly out. It was a very stressful situation for me and not once did I have a moment of stress at the hotel. Front desk never questioned my increasing billing, they arranged for a larger room during a very busy in house convention to accommodate my husband when he was released from hospital. The lobby restaurant staff,Katie,Carolyn,Ryan,Desiree, and I am sorry if I forgot other names, welcomed me by name when I had dinner after a day at the hospital, their kindness was absolutely over the top. concierge Danielle helped with restaurant reservation for the out of town friends, hiring a car, and a hello and smile when I walked past her desk. Valet attendant helped me with a taxi at 5:00 AM when driver refused to take me to hospital because he wanted a airport run and my Uber app was giving me problems. Room staff where great and kept the room absolutely immaculate. Room service staff were could not have been more professional. Most of all after my lengthy stay I am convinced that the staff attitude and team work approach is largely due to the management skills of the General Manager Mr. Javier Cano.
I spent five nights here while attending a large conference at the Los Angeles convention center. I had a room on my own but was with about eight of my colleagues. I would consider it a business trip with some pleasure and fun mixed in.
I had a large room with a king sized bed. The room was clean and more than adequate.
I use the fitness center every day. It had the equipment and weights I needed however some mornings it was very busy. It was so busy person barely had enough space to do push-ups. Bottled water and scented towels are offered which was a nice touch.
It’s a great location in downtown Los Angeles if you’re attending a conference at the convention center or anything within LA Live.
The hotel charges a $25 passport fee, per day per guest. I have to question this charge. I did try to use the $20 credit for food and beverage every day but it’s just a lot to plan. I would rather eliminate the $20 passport fee from my daily bill.
