How to Get There
So we arrived at this oasis after 3 days of travel in CA/moving our daughter into dorm near USC and didn't look the part for sure, but it was my wife's bdy and I made sure the front desk staff knew...she's been a 35+ yr Marriott Rewards member and recent lifetime Titanium, well some well placed whispers took place and Larry at the front desk plus the front desk mgr swung into action and we ended up the Prez suite (1750) for three nights. Our daughter enjoyed it so much she didn't want to go back to her dorm, and my wife felt like the queen she is..plus all those nights on the road away from her family had finally paid off. We enjoyed the suite to no end, had a rollaway for two nights, and felt like big deals in the heart of LA. Parking is 52 a nite, but the valet drivers do a great job and our humble KIA sportage was at home surrounded by Porsche's and Limo's..The Concierge lounge is first rate with hot buffet style bfast (Ernesto), happy hr eats, and nite time snacks..it is by far the best Concierge lounge we have used in years. The staff is the best part of this hotel, they are everywhere, are well trained, and really understand customer service..Kudos to the mgmt. team, Ritz couldn't do it any better...Now the hard part, due to current economic issues in LA, the hotel which is in the center of LA live, is in an extremely unsettling area and walking/wandering far from the hotel is not advised in any direction. Parking at the hotel is almost mandatory, since a block or two even if you could find a space is ill advised. Taxi's, uber, lyft readily available.
Stayed here for just one night when in town visiting family. Newish property attached to the Ritz in the heart of LA Live. New rooms, great, attentive service.
Simple in and out from valet to the freeway and surrounds, which made it really convenient for us.
Imagine this would be a great place to stay after a Lakers game and wanting a night in town.
My wife and I spent a few nights here while she attended a conference in the hotel. The staff is truly wonderful. All are very friendly, personable and helpful. The location is also excellent if you're going to an event at the convention center, Staples or LA Live. (If you're just visiting LA, downtown may not be where you want to be.) I was able to enjoy the spa at the Ritz (next door, but *same* building), which was wonderful, but otherwise found the JW Marriott property to be clean, well kept and comfortable. As another review has noted, I was a bit surprised that our room with two beds included two "double" beds and not two queens. That was not what we expected so be forewarned. Otherwise, this property is a just what you'd expect from a JW Marriott and we enjoyed our stay. Thanks again to the staff for being so awesome.
