Start your stay with a visit to the Spa InterContinental and get the Traveler’s Tonic Massage, a combination of Swedish and deep tissue massage and aromatherapy designed to fight travel fatigue. Spend the afternoon lounging around your private spa villa and making the most of the facilities, which include a sauna, an outdoor Jacuzzi and an infinity pool. Then head to lunch at chef Jonathan Wood’s eclectic Park Grill (breakfast, brunch and dinner are on offer too). Back in your room, take in the views of Hollywood, Downtown or the Pacific Ocean from the comfort of your private balcony or terrace. During the summer you can also get a bird’s-eye view of the city from the 18th-floor helipad, where free yoga classes are held.
In the Area
The concierge recommends beginning the day with a stroll to Clementine restaurant for a healthy breakfast, followed by long walk around one of L.A.’s prettiest green spaces, Holmby Park. If the weather is good, drive up to Zuma Beach in Malibu — pack a picnic lunch or head to Geoffrey’s for California cuisine served alfresco overlooking the Pacific. When you’ve gotten enough sun, make a visit to the Richard Meier-designed Getty Center where the beautiful gardens and gorgeous L.A. views are as impressive as the art collection.
How to Get There
I stayed there for the second time this year and enjoyed it very much. Breakfast is amazing. The rooms are well equipped and maintained. Both trips were business and I look forward to staying again soon.
I have stayed here a few times, and it is nice to see that the staff recognizes me, and treat me as though they are honored that I continue to stay with them. The service is very personalized, and I am treated very well when I stay here.
We came here for the weekend. While there was California fire nearby, the hotel still offered us the late checkout (the hotel was mostly booked). The service was great! However, there was some miscommunication between valet and front desk service. Other than this issue, the trip was great.
We had booked a one bed suite for 5 nights, when first arrived were given a poor room on 4th floor overlooking busy road, single glazed so a lot of traffic noise. We complained and moved to marginally quieter room on same floor that only had space for one bedside cabinet and no reading light on one side, not good enough for a supposed 5* hotel. Complained again but hotel busy and that was all that was available. We were moved the next day to 14th floor and suite was much nicer, quiet with great view and were given complimentary wine, chocs and fruit, organised by Abey, the reservations manager. He was very apologetic and helpful so rescued the situation and turned a negative into a positive. Thanks again Abey - we would now happily stay with you again if we could guarantee the same or similar suite on a high floor.
I stayed there on business late November. I had a long flight coming into town and a full day of work starting first thing the next morning. When I got to my room, there was a plate of fresh fruit, with a note "welcome back"! A small thing, but honestly made a huge difference for me that day. I so appreciated that gesture.
Beyond that, general level of service is excellent. Room was spotlessly clean; staff were very helpful. Looking forward to visiting again!
