First time in Los Angeles, thought this looked like a great place. It was okay.
The rooms very small, but well equipped. Mini bar options were extensive, but overpriced. Room service menu was priced as though it were a Michelin restaurant, out of touch.
The location was proximal to Hollywood, but that was all. The area is very rundown, lots of homeless and not much to do - no fault of the hotel of course.
Perhaps this is the start of the area cleaning up, but overall I am glad it was just one night here because in LA, it is a long way to Beverley Hills, Santa Monica and Venice aka all the things you want to do.
Overall the hotel is good, but the location a bit of a letdown.

Modern, hip hotel in the middle of Hollywood

Location is great - Selma avenue is quieter than the other major roads. Our room did not have any type of view - probably need to get one of the top floors for that. Breakfast on the roof-top is great - we really enjoyed the food and the view. We had a light night flight and they kept our luggage secure for the day and we returned to retrieve it early evening. The roof top closes in the afternoon and opens in the evening as a club-type bar to the public. I don't know what it takes to get in - it looks very trendy and younger. If you want to go up after dinner and have a drink and see the view - you're out of luck. The room is a little on the small side. Much has been said about the glass enclosed toilet - it's different. Probably should know your partner well. The bathroom counter space is small and the lighting makes make-up a challenge - my wife really complained. The closet is also a bit small. Hotel attracts a younger group. Staff is very nice and accomodating. There is no desk in the room, but i don't think you would stay here on a business trip. Overall, I liked the hotel and loved the location. If I was staying for more than a few days, I would probably look for something a bit cheaper and a bigger room.

Lauren was exceptional!

I researched hotels, saw the dream hotel had lots of stars.
This was an important trip, my daughters 18 birthday...bucket list item. She has many health issues and some disabilities. I noticed some people complained of it being loud.. no problem , they placed us on level 6, away from nightlife noise. I was in touch with Lauren the hotel concierge via email. She promptly forwarded me a list of things to do. Additionally , she provided a small refrigerator stocked with complimentary water. My daughter has kidney issues and needs free access to plenty of water. Upon arrival , 2 cupcakes and a happy birthday note awaited my daughter. Lauren was always there to fulfill our needs . Another awesome thing, after we checked out we were able to keep exploring, store our baggage and shower up at 7pm for our flight home!
The location of the hotel-amazing. 2 blocks from walk of fame! A complimentary house car takes you within 3 miles of the hotel. We used this to go to “the grove” & our horseback ride. Foyer , so trendy , lemon water and a nice place to hang! The men opening the doors for us were so kind and conversational.. calling us by name .
You will not be dissatisfied! Lauren is wonderful , room, rooftop pool where the Hollywood sign is visible ! Book it today !!!!!!! XOXO

Clean, friendly, accommodating, worth every penny. Great location! Since I first arrived until I checked out I was greeted by smiles, acknowledgement, and assistance. Something that most hotels today lack, but not this one.
You all deserve 5 stars!

My room was not ready when I arrived just prior to check-in, they made me wait three hours for my room. Not cool when you have come from Australia. Good location in Hollywood but tacky area. Would stay in West Hollywood next time. Room service is overpriced for what you receive. Attitude from young patrons is appalling. Bar upstairs is nice and has good views. Rooms are great!
