How to Get There
If you are looking for a great hotel about 20 miles out of LAX stay at the Double Tree by Hilton San Pedro. The hotel has friendly staff, vibe in the bar area is great, rooms are well appointed and beds/pillows are ultra comfy. The best part of the hotel are the views of the marina. It is located close to the port of San Pedro and perfect for stays before and after your cruise.
A hidden gem very safe beautiful walks beach nearby. Surprised how clean and the restaurant and bar was fantastic. This is the only hotel in the San Pedro area that I would recommend to family and friends. Enjoy the aquarium next door as well it’s nice.
On June 2019 my husband, my kid and I stayed at the Double tree by Hilton Hotel San Pedro. We stay there to attend a cirque du soleil show. Was a very good overall experience.
The hotel is old, but well kept. Big breakfast buffet included with gold/platinum status. The lobby is nice, the staff was very friendly and efficient.
LOCATION: We were really close to the cirque du soleil grounds. The hotel has a beautiful view of the marina.
ROOMS: Our room was a suite. It has two double beds in a separate area, big dining table and a living room.
- Views: We had a view to the swimming pool.
- Illumination: The room it’s very well illuminated, lots of lamps and spots. Just how I like it.
- Beds: Very, VERY comfortable beds. Medium-soft mattress, nice blankets.
- Noise: No noise.
- Cleanliness: It was very clean.
SERVICE: The staff is respectful, well trained and efficient.
- Wi Fi: Fast.
- Swimming Pool: Small but my kid really enjoyed it.
- Gym: Well equipped.
- Business Center: Nil.
- Transportation: They offer transportation to the show. Our driver was really nice.
I was going to Catalina Island and found this great hotel. they have a free shuttle to Catalina express and a wonderful view of the marina. Close to the beaches and Long Beach. The staff was friendly and the fodd excellent.
We wanted to share our experience while staying at this hotel.
First, a little background information. We made reservations to stay at another hotel in the area (Crown Plaza) in March 2019. My wife is disabled and needs a roll-in shower. We made our reservations with the Crown Plaza in March to guarantee we could secure a room on June 8th with a roll-in shower. We called back on two different occasions, as well as on the morning before we checked in to ensure that the room had been saved for us. The staff assured us that they did indeed have a room for us with a roll-in shower. We checked in, went up to our room and began unpacking, but found they had put us in a room with a bathtub. I called the front desk and spoke to the assistant manager who apologized but told us they gave our room away. We went to the front desk to try to resolve the issue, but the assistant manager said, “well, you can go stay somewhere else, like the Vagabond.” I could not believe that an assistant manager would not care about trying to do her best to resolve the issue.
We searched for other hotels in the San Pedro area and found your hotel, the Doubletree by Hilton. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the friendly reception staff at the front desk. The greeting was much appreciated after a long 8-hour drive from Sacramento and the horrible experience we just had at the Crown Plaza.
I went in to the lobby and Riley asked if he could help me. I responded with “I hope so” and proceeded to tell him what had just occurred at the Crown Plaza. He immediately began trying to find us a room, and he presented us with afternoon cookies and cold bottles of water, which were an unexpected treat.
We had never stayed at your hotel before, but Riley went above and beyond what was expected and treated us like we were VIP’s. Not only did Riley find us a room (#205) with a roll-in shower, but the room had a spectacular view of the harbor, and Riley had a roll-away bed delivered to the room for our son, since there was only a king bed in the room.
That alone more than satisfied our needs, but Riley also gave us a complementary bottle of excellent Champagne as a welcome gift, free wi-fi, and two complementary breakfasts. When Riley presented these things to us, my wife broke down and cried happy tears. Riley was able to turn a negative experience into a positive one. He followed up several times during our stay to make sure everything was ok.
The next morning we had a great hot breakfast, hot coffee, and fresh juice. The staff at the restaurant was also exemplary. The hostess asked if she could help my wife with getting her food at the buffet, the server never let our coffee, water, or juice glass get below half-full.
Thank you again Riley for going that step extra for us. You don’t know how much it meant to us.
