A fantastic hotel at a fair price.

We had a spacious room with king bed, desk, sofa, chairs, fireplace. large bathroom, sliding glass doors to a balcony, and a fabulous view of the beach, the strand, and the village. Staff was efficient, courteous, and helpful. Continental breakfast was very good, especially the scones and bagels. Everything was very clean. Location is very good, on the beach and a block from Pier Street, with great restaurants. Price was very fair. I will stay here anytime I need to be anywhere near LA. We were there to see Chargers, a 30 minute ride from hotel.

Luxurious getaway

Friends directed us to this beach as opposed to Santa Monica or Manhattan Beach. We generally stay at several locations to see as much as we can while traveling, but this time decided to stay put and enjoy the views we paid for with an Ocean Front Room.
With the valet included along with taxes and fees it came to almost $400 a night! Not what we can generally afford, but the trip became a Christmas gift to us.
Do rent bikes and peddle along the strand. Get a higher room and stay during the week to cut down on noise outside. Our stay was Mon-Thurs so we didn’t deal with too much noise from the busy strand below.
We will love remembering the sound of the ocean, the talent of the surfers and the beauty of this little town.

Solid Choice, Just lacking luxury

Good stay with a family of 4. Rooms are quiet and ours looked right out to the ocean. The pull-out beds are not comfortable and quite squeaky. I'd say this hotel is best suited for couples.

Staff are fantastic, valet parking is super easy and there are plenty of dining spots withing 10-15 minutes walk. The complimentary breakfast at the hotel is also really good, especially the scones.

Lovely one night stay for an overnight layover

We had an oceanview (vs ocean front) room. It was in another building from the main building which was fine when we were there but could be an issue with rain. The view included the road, which was not ideal but we opted for ocean view over the pricier ocean front. There was a group of teens hanging out in the park across the street which was noisy with the patio doors open but not an issue with them closed.

The sheets were amazing! So soft!A lovely room overall with top notch toiletries and nice decor.

The room was well appointed for a long stay with a mini-kitchenette (which we did not use).

Breakfast had a nice variety and the staff was very attentive. The scones were especially delicious.

We stayed here overnight before a long flight across the Pacific. It was a great place to do this. We were able to take long walks along the water and pier before our our long flight. Many restaurants and shops to walk to, also.

Brief 1 night stay in a partial ocean view room. When I lived in the area I must have walked past the hotel a thousand times but never took notice. Maybe because the entrance is set behind the main building you don't realize how special it is.

From the staff to the room everything here is 5 stars. My room was in a corner that provided loads of natural light and overlooked Good Stuff. Room was spacious with a nice step-down living area and a sizable balcony which is great for just taking in the people and vibe of Hermosa Beach.

For those people pointing out noise at night here's the thing. Hermosa is the South Bay's most eclectic and popular beach city. As it has a large entertainment area with bars and restaurants you are going to get noise after dark. I heard some revellers but it didn't bother me because I'd take the sweet location over any noise any day. If you want a quieter stay head to Redondo Beach but you won't get the same experience as Hermosa.

This is my go-to spot.

Having lived in the area for a few years and walked past the hotel I can't believe I never looked inside.
