How to Get There
This is a beautiful hotel with extremely nice staff. The rooms are gorgeous and roomy. The food onsite is also great. I would mostly stay here again. The decks provide a great getaway from others to reflect.
I had 3 days for business and enjoyed the lounge, food, music, and EMPLOYESS all three nights! Food was well prepared, great flavors, and presentation. I had dinner in the lounge/bar area which is more like a warm and cozy home. I had the green garlic soup, very smooth and flavorful. Then ordered the quail and would have again, just needed two as they tasted so yummy! Second night I ordered from the bar appetizer menu, had the Shrimp dish with an avocado crema base, can’t remember the name but excellent flavors. Then dessert and I’m not a sweets person, the lemon pudding cake. The last night I had the Wygau beef steak, great flavor again. While these dishes may not be for everyone, they had a good variety so check out the online menu. It was not super busy so had very attentive and friendly service.
We booked our trip a month in advance to celebrate our Birthday's with friends of ours and traveled about 2 hours to get here.We had also made a reservation at the Restaurant at that time. Our reservation was set for 7:30pm. We all decided to have some drinks in the lounge (adjacent to the restaurant) prior to dinner. We arrived around 7pm and checked in at the hostess desk. By 740pm our group had not been called, so we walked up and asked if our table was ready, and they were like oh your here??? They then walked us to our table. We put in our order with the server around 750pm. By 850 our dinner still had not been delivered. My husband politely asked where our food was and the gentleman said let me check. He came back and said they were plating it right now. 20 min later our food still had not arrived, so we decided to leave. As we all stood up and proceeded to walk to the front of the restaurant. My husband asked to speak to the manager about the issue and to pay for what we had already been served (appetizers and drinks.) They called security and apparently thought we were skipping out on our tab. We were all completely appauled and felt disrespected, and embarrassed. My husband was speaking to the manager at this time, and my husband asked why he called for security and the manager said he didn't call for them. When outside the security guard told us that the manager did in fact call for him! This a very pricy place and we definitely expected a lot better service and professionalism. We will not return to this establishment, and it completely put a damper on a rather special weekend.
You don’t have to go to Napa for a great experience. This Resort is outstanding, professional and friendly. We chose a room with fireplace. So very comfortable and spacious. The lounge had jazz on the nights we stayed. We did have dinner one night in their restaurant. Be prepared for a very expensive meal. No complaint on meal or service but not sure the price fits the menu. There is a nice wine tasting and visitor center on the property. But we found out Lodi is a great place for wine tasting and you don’t have to put up with snooty wineries. They are actually glad to see you. Try the tasting rooms downtown.
We booked a room with a fireplace because my wife was having surgery at a nearby hospital early the next morning. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and modern. We showed up at the restaurant without reservations and had only a minimal wait. Dinner was delicious and the server went out of his way to explain the menu and offer his recommendations.
