our worst exchange yet. Garbage, litter, and housekeeping supplies laying on grounds outside our unit entire week. Soundproofing between units extremely poor !
Too bad because resort has some high end looking units, but I would never stay in Villas on the Greens again. Perhaps Mountain Villas would be better.

Beautiful Resort

Beautiful Resort with activities for the entire family. The golf course is in excellent condition, restaurant has a large selection to choose from, and there is some shopping on site. We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. Close to SanDiego which offers several day trip activities.

The Good and Bad of Welks Resort
Reviewed 4 days ago

Each area of this resort is named. We stayed in the area called Melody Hill in late April.

I'll start with the good. The kitchen and bathrooms were very good. Big showers with lots of space to move around and store items. Although one sower head was excellent, the other was from the dollar store. The landscaping was very nice. Swimming pool, hot tub and exercise room were nice. This was the adult pool (^18). The staff serves drinks to you pool side, for a price. The foot golf was very fun. We are a soccer family.

Now for the bad. I guess our number 1 bad was that this resort is right next to a major highway. Especially Melody Hill and even more so our building Moonglow within Melody. Very cheap windows and you could hear trucks, motorcycles all the time 24/7. Nice weather but unable to open windows at night for sure. Sitting out back on patio with a drink and book was no fun.Melody Hills is the adult pool, so if you request not being around kids then this is were you might end up. Sleeping in was difficult for us.

The main restaurant, Canyon Grill had great food but was total unable to handle the volume of people. Small seating area but we learned you could do take-out. This was April and the resort looked to me like 20-30% capacity. I can't even imagine what a night in summer at 70-100% would be like.

The first room we were placed in had a rodent problem. After the first night we were able to get them to move us but we were still in the Melody Hill area. This was a ground floor room. It was a catch 22, we wanted the adult pool but the road noise and rodent made us request another area. You would have thought they could easily accommodate this because the resort was empty. They did not and they even did nothing extra for us. Our food on the kitchen had the bags chewed open and the trash bags had holes chewed in the bottom. But they did nothing extra for us. REALLY !!

Our kids both live in the San Marcos area so we will be back west for sure. Just not here. I will come back for the foot golf though. That was fun.

This is a large spacious well landscaped resort. Facilities are extensive and good. It is in a quiet location which means that most tourist destinations eg the coast and San Diego are an hours drive. We had a very pleasant stay in a very comfortable unit.

Fabulous resort

The kids will love this resort. Many activity options. Clean, beautifully maintained grounds. Also has a nice adults only gym. Our room was clean and spacious. Bed was super comfy. We loved the walk in two headed shower.
