Great service, fantastic music, drinks and set up at this fabulous historical old Hollywood place. We are coming back and bringing friends again. It could be very crowded at times but this is an ideal place to see an early part of true Hollywood history.

Beautiful older hotel that is elegant in style and located in convenient area. Stayed here late 12/18 on our trip to Japan with daughter who resides in LA. Nice room, great bar with live jazz in evening. Loved it. Expensive for me but, based on where I stayed on my return, at a less expensive hotel, you get what you pay for.

Great restaurant in an incredible setting!

"A Charming Hotel but Requiring Additional Attention"
Reviewed 1 month ago

During the first week of November/2018, we flew from Zurich to Los Angeles (LA) with SWISS, a very pleasant trip, despite of the distance and being a day-flight. In LA we stayed at "The Culver Hotel". A boutique Hotel (and, obviously, not a cheap place), antique (about 90 years old) and charming. Staff polite and attentive. The hotel is really nice, worth staying, but, two issues are well below the standards of such a hotel and need a rather urgent attention from the management: 1) the continental breakfast is good (included in our reservations); a reasonable and quality variety for different tastes, but poorly managed/supervised. Guests need to almost "beg" to staff to come around and respond to simple requests; 2) Internet service: weak and intermittent signal (really poor)! On a separate note, we stayed in the hotel twice due to a short trip to San Francisco. UNITED Airlines deserves to be commended for the service, in particular during the wildfires in California. Excellent service inside the aircraft and in particular on the ground and, most importantly, flexible during those unpleasant situations to most passengers as, for instance, avoiding charging additional fees for changes in the reservations. Really an outstanding service! I do not know whether this is always like this, but based on our first trip with UNITED, I would highly recommend it.
